Have you ever cried at hearing the news of the death of someone famous/a celebrity?

Princess Diana. I was a teenager but she was my idol even back then. I was so sad when I heard it on the news in the morning.

I don't really consider myself a crier. But a couple of years ago when Rick Hendrick's company plane crashed and he lost a total of 10 family members and friends, I cried for weeks reading the updates and watching the service for them. And by then I was no longer a fan of Jeff Gordon. Nobody in the plane was famous except for who they were related to but that's as close as I've come. And I still to this day don't know what hit me so hard about it.

I cried when Steve Irwin died. I also cried last year when I heard that Michael Crichton, the author of "Jurassic Park" and creator of "E.R." died.

I've never cried, but I've felt the loss when Princess Di and JFK Jr passed. I really liked Natasha Richardson and am sad for her family that she has passed on.

Wow, you must be as old as I am! I loved Peter Duel. He was the star of Alias Smith and Jones, a great show. I was also very sad when he died.

Elvis, Princess Diana, Johnny Cash, John Spencer (Leo on The West Wing) and Tim Russet.

When Princess Diana died, I was in Las Vegas. We were at a bar in our hotel and all of a sudden the singer from the band announced they were dedicating the next song to Princess Diana who had been killed in a car crash. There was a collective gasp and the entire room just went silent...no one had heard anything about it. We all just sat there, then my SIL and I went up to our hotel room and watched the news on TV and we both sat there and bawled. We were so shocked. I'll never forget it.

I cried all day when I heard about John Spencer too, I am a HUGE West Wing fan and I loved John Spencer and Leo. I still can't watch the West Wing episode where Leo has a heart attack.

The death of Steve McQueen also hit me very hard. To see him waste away was so hard. I can't even begin to tell you how many of his movies I'd watched growing up. To me, he will always be that guy jumping the fence in The Great Escape.

Bill Bixby was also a heart-breaker.

Elvis, John Lennon and Princess Di.

With Elvis, I was like 14; I think. And we were in Maggie Valley NC on vacation. I didn't cry when it happened so much as when we got back and I watched one of his concert specials on TV-I just bawled like a baby. My sister was a huge Elvis fan and I loved him too. I had grown up listening to and singing along with Elvis songs! We just missed him so much.

My oldest son had a friend that was killed in a car wreck the same day as Princess Di, so even now watching coverage from her funeral on the anniversary will tear me up.
