Have you ever combined rented DVC points and a Bounceback offer? Advice please...

Both OKW and SSR are lovely resorts. Easy access to DS... walk or boat from SSR or boat from OKW. As others have pointed out, they are not near park so you will be using bus transport for that. On the other hand because they are large, availability is better and points are lower... studios at OKW are 43 points, SSR non-preferred are 47 (55 for preferred).

The bigger difference between the two is the bed configuration... OKW has two, SSR has only one and a pullout sofa.

As long as you have an 8 day hopper and a room reservation that you can link to your MDE, you will be able to book FP+ at 60 days.

DVC stays can be linked in MDE, and your tickets can be linked in MDE, so you shouldn't have any problems with FP+.
You shouldn’t, but you do - according to the split stay ticketing faq sticky, and the 3 ticket agents I spoke to. :p We are doing the same thing in the fall so I’ve been researching all week to confirm. If this has changed it’d be great to know. Your ticket works before the package start date, but you can’t book fp with it until the package date, and then can’t book them backwards through the room only stay, dvc or otherwise. It doesn’t make sense but appears to be true.

I did not know this, and I apologize for being incorrect.

We are DVC owners, and I guess I haven't booked a "package" in ages.

However, I do also agree that you would probably save a ton of money by renting DVC for the entire time and POO for food. To me, this is the joy of DVC, having a kitchen and fixing quick, easy and simple food and saving a ton of money.

It’s totally counterintuitive. The tickets are clearly there, and your room is clearly there...let me book Fp dangit.

This is still correct. MDE does not consider your tickets from your package to be valid until the day of check in for that stay. Therefore, you cannot book advance FP+ for any days prior to that check in date. You can still pick up your tickets early and begin using them and at that point, you can begin booking FP+ for any day during your stay.

It's really not something we can discuss on the board or through pm's. Sorry :( Just a TA that books up a ton of rooms at deluxe resorts during the slowest times at WDW and then you can reserve at lower rates than Disney.

I totally understand! Thank you :-)

I have also been interested in these two resorts as well- mostly OKW, but have had to rule them out. We have a family of 5, so we would need to rent a 1 bedroom which increases the price quite a bit. :sad1:

In my opinion, OKW 1 bedrooms are worth every penny! They are massive with a full balcony and kitchen. Best value by points or cash.
