Have you ever burned yourself by ironing clothes that you are wearing?

This thread is prompted by Charade's one about his wife cutting her nostril while shaving her legs...

If my wife noticed a large wrinkle in something she already was wearing she would try to iron it while she was still wearing. Needless to say, she often got burnt.

Is this something that ALL women try at least once?

No, but as a woman, we are always trying to save time. Unfortunately, sometimes multitasking doesn't quite work out the way you'd planned!

.... 'guilty' as charged [...never got burned - YET!]

You CAN use a flat iron to get some of those wrinkes without burning yourself!!

I have burned myself a few different ways. The obvious one and I am sure many have had this happen you burn your stomach while ironing your maternity top because you are ironing in your underwear in a rush to get to your doctor's appointment. I suppose I could chalk that up to youthful ignorance.
However,
I have also burned myself because even though I have a masters degree I was not smart enough to realize you cannot STEAM out wrinkles while you are wearing the garment. Steam ,even though it is just really hot water , BURNS! This was when I was not so youthful and not so ignorant. I supposed I could chalk that up to loss of brain cells that comes with age!

I would so easily do what you did, Bella. And yes, I've ironed or attempted to iron parts of my clothing on the way out the door. I don't stick the hot iron on my body or anything, but if there is a sleeve that wrinkled.... it's easy to think if I just lean over (with said arm out of the sleeve) all will be good.

:lmao:

I think that there is a warning on the iron, in fine print. Remove clothing before ironing. ;) :rotfl2:

I have never even thought to do this. However, I have tried on a pile of clothes before I find the right item. That's how I deal with wrinkles. ;)

:thumbsup2 Sadly, there is. :rotfl:

No, I have never done this, but I have injured myself in many other stupid ways, so I can't say much.

I've done it but I was ironing with my curling iron...even dumber!

The thought never crossed my mind! But I HATE getting burned so I would never do that.:scared:
