Yes many times its no big deal. Now the new ones are just a computer image. A lot of jobs make you do them and its fore our good.I would rather get finger printed then a drug test lol

Yes, twice. To work for Disney and to work for the CIA - the ridiculous to the sublime!

Yes. I was a notary for four years.

I'm thinking of getting re-certified. It was a good way to make spare change. I'm not sure what travelling notaries make now, but back then, it was $60 a signature. ($10 for the signature, $50 to travel.) On some documents, two signatures are needed, so it was $70 for a 10 minute trip.

It was good, because if I wanted to, I could notarize for free to help out people in need. To top it off, my former boss paid for me to become a notary as she was tired of having to pay someone to travel to her. It was a win-win-win situation and she didn't care if I made money on the side from it as long as I was always available for her.

Yep, three times.
First to become a firefighter
Second to become a police officer
Third to work security at a missile plant

Yes, it's part of the background check to adopt a child in my state.

Too many times to count, all work-related:

Every mental health facility/hospital I ever worked for
Disney
Universal
Harrah's Casino (side note: that was also the MOST extensive background screen I've ever undergone. 25 of us in my training class surrounded by a dozen armed police officers, all stressing how IMPORTANT it was to list a full ten-year job history, even if it was something stupid like a fast food job that we only worked for a few days. They also did a hair analysis drug test).
Substitute teacher

It's annoying, but I only ever had to pay for it for substitute teaching. Every other time was paid by the company and done on-site.

Twice, by the same school district, no less. One time for my mom's classroom. She teaches preschool and one of the fathers who was going to help for a month got a big jury duty case. The second time was for my wife's class, which I was just helping with a field trip. School said that the fingerprints don't transfer from school to school. Needs to be done for each one. That would stink for subs.

4 times that I recall.
1) As a reserve deputy sheriff.
2) For a job that required I be bonded
3) For another job that required I be bonded.
4) To volunteer for my son's Little League, Little League has required criminal background checks for about 10 years now.

Yes twice..once when I was a kid, and then just last year so I could apply for my nurse practitioner license...

Yes, when we adopted and twice for my current job. I was hired as a temp and then permanently, they fingerprinted me both times.

Adopt Now there is the best reason to get finger printed. Need to now send more pictures.Kids look cute.

Several times.

1. Joined the Air Force (Retiring tomorrow after 21 years)
2. Handgun carry permit in Washington state
3. Handgun carry permit in Idaho state
4. Required for employment with police department (hopefully the new job after I retire from the AF)

Harrah's is really tough. I have a friend who works there (professional non-gambling related job). The employees can be fired on the spot for the smallest infraction.

It was a real pain to get a government secret security clearance when I was only 20. I had to give the address where I lived until I was 1 year old - how would I know? Can't imagine doing it now with lots more years under my belt.

Hardest job clearance (but no fingerprinting) was for Visa International. They move billions of dollars a night. Especially back when we were so small (less than 500 employees worldwide) there were few real security precautions in place except for really screening employees (could take up to two months).

When I signed up to be a block parent. If you're not familiar, it is a home where children can go when they see the official green sign in the window and know they are safe if they feel theatened in any way.:flower3:

That is cool, I had no idea about something like that!

Hmmm, I could handle that. Heck, I'd do it for half LOL I just like the idea of working ALONE ;) Just me and my stamp - rolling along the highway looking for things to notarize!

I have been fingerprinted once - to work in our school. And I had to pay $48 for the experience.
