Have you ever been EXCUSED from school?

Actaully, that thread got me and my girlfriends talking about it. See, I was "excused" from that high school completely...for getting into a fight with the guy at the dance. The school my brothers were at gave me a scholarship to finish out high school.

My mom was nervous to put me in public school

My grades were good..full scholarship to college.

Which is why I said grades have nothing to do with it.

I never was in trouble in school, but my sister on the other hand...

If I ever needed to tell her something, I knew I could always find her in the in-school suspension room! She spent more time in their then in the regular class rooms!

I skipped a couple times, but I always wrote my own excuses or called myself in, and they never caught me on that.

3 maybe 4 times in HS. Always for skipping. I could always find something more interesting going on than classes. Glad my kids didn't take after me!

You dont have to tell the story..yes or no. But I'll start and tell.

Yes, My 2 of my brothers and I we in Spanish Class together and the assignment was to make a spanish dish for the class. We made tacos, but half way thru we realized we had no ground beef. I went and asked the neighbors and they only had....ALPO!

So we got in trouble for feeding the class and the teachers ALPO in taco sauce. My mom just laughed and told us we deserved the punishment!

I was a very good, boring kid in school. The only trouble I got into was in grade school with talking, which was noted on almost every report card.... I went to school when kids had respect for their teachers and parents backed that up...Wish that was the case in schools today...

I have never been suspended or expelled - but I have had detention in school. That was enough to teach me

I seem to remember detention once in high school at 7:15 a.m. Can't remember if I got it for cutting English or Biology. Hmmm...someone should have told me! NEVER cut when there's a sub teacher!!

I've never even had a detention. I behave. Mostly because that's the way I am but even when I want to do something wrong that could get me suspended or whatever I remember that would take away National Honor Society. It would also put me in big trouble with the attendance limit, since I miss more than my fair share of school with legitimate health-related abscences as it is, and suspensions would make me ineligible for appealing-resulting in an attendance failure for a grade. That doesn't look good when applying to colleges cuz it knocks a GPA way down.
