I recently read someone's reviews and they mentioned a place called Columbia Harbour House. I asked them for more details ... but then didn't log back into this website for a day or two and now I can't find that thread!
I never heard of the place. Can someone tell me how it is? I hear it's in Liberty Square...where is it in relation to Liberty Tree Tavern...or Haunted Mansion?
Thanks...and Merry Christmas to everyone on this terrific website!!!!

Columbia Harbour House is in MK nestled between Liberty Square and Fantasyland. The main offerings are Clam Chowder and a vegetarian chili in bread bowls. I believe they also have salads. It is one of my favorite places because they have a large upstairs that is not well known, so, it tends to be a nice place to relax and have some quiet time.

They also have very good chicken fingers. Just to be sure you realize, it is not a sit down restaurant. It's a fast food set up where you get your food from the counter and then find a table to sit at in the restaurant. However, the food seems to be of a little higher quality and they do offer some different things like the chowder and chili. I've found that sometimes the restaurant is closed in the slower seasons.

If you come out of the Haunted Mansion and head left towards Fantasy Land you'll see the restaurant on the opposite side of the path just as you start to head up the hill. It is a dark brown on the outside.

I think they have a few sandwiches too, and I think fish and chips.

Its a nice change of pace from the ususal counter service offerings.

The ONLY problem I had was that the bread they used for their bowls is some kind of "7-grain bread". You know, the kind with little pieces of wheat, seeds, whatever in it? Most places use sourdough for their bread bowls, and I much prefer that.

But admittedly, most people probably don't care as much about that as I do.

You can get a combo of fish and chicken, it is very good. We eat there often. If it is open, find the stairs and eat up-stairs. Most people don't think you can up there and stay down stairs. Even on the most crowded of days, there is always very few people up stairs.

We started eating at CHH when I was a child. Back then they served wonderful shrimp. We still love to stop in and eat upstairs, as the others have mentioned, for a quiet relaxing meal.

I highly recommend this place. We stumbled across it on our last trip a month ago. It had something for everyone in our group. I suggest that if you are not hearty eaters, you could share a sandwich. My teens, who are usually big eaters, could not finish theirs :)

This has been a "must-eat-at" restaurant for us for more than 20 years. The clam chowder (New England style) in a bread bowl is great, and enough for two to share if you're having something else, too.

We enjoy eating upstairs and relaxing for a few minutes during a busy park day!

We have eaten there a few times. It's standard counter fare, for the most part. Not bad, not exceptional.
DH and I do like their Garden Galley Salad (mixed greens with chicken, pecans, pineapple and feta cheese) for lunch.

It has a much more sit-down restaurant feel than most of the counter service places because the seating areas are in several little rooms both upstairs and downstairs.

This is a good place to get more counter service variety, too. For example, you can macaroni and cheese on the kids' menu. I really like the vegetarian sandwich (I'm not a vegetarian). It has hummus, tomato, broccoli slaw and some other stuff I'm not remembering on good-quality toasted bread.

this is always a must do for me...i love the fish and chicken!! and i finally got to eat upstairs for the first time on my most recent trip. it was great to sit up there by a window and people watch. as everyone has said, it's a counter service place, but it's still one of my favorites!!

brandie :)

Well, I wouldn't say the food is noteworthy or anything. BUT, for "fast food" service it is indeed a nice change of pace. The food is good but what I liked best was it was a relaxing place to have lunch at MK...and there isn''t much of that going around at MK.

My Mom. who has since passed, use to LOVE this resteraunt when we used to take our trips together.:o

Thanks everyone...very helpful replies. Will definetly check it out our next trip. In MK, we usually have lunch at the Mexican place...near Pirates of Caribbean. We've gone there twice...I've hated it twice (not a big tex-mex person), but we always seem to be in that area when it's lunchtime! We will make a point to be hungry when we're at Liberty Square area next time!

The lunch served when we took the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour was at the Columbia House, and it was very good.
