Have you bought/tried fake cigarette @ mall?

Today at the mall DH was approached about a battery powered cigarette that is supposed to help you quit smoking. If I understand correctly you keep buying lower nicotine filters until you are not getting any nicotine.

The girl started off with a price of $150, then $130 and finally $90. This tactic is usually a RED FLAG for me.

Just wondering if anyone has tried these and if you like them.

I've never seen them at the mall, but a friend of mine quit smoking with the help of e-cigs. She loves them, but she hasn't ever given them up. She loves being able to "fake" smoke, having that in her hand and mouth.

That is what the girl was saying today. She says you are as much addicted to the holding and inhaling of the cigarette as you are the nicotine.

I've bought a couple online (3 actually) and for all of them, plus rechargable batteries and refill filters for less than $100.

I've used them 3 times during hospital stays over the last 8 months and they were great for satisfying those "cravings" you get at certain times. The pp was spot on about part of the pleasure of smoking is the tactile sensation of holding the cigaretter, inhaling, etc.

I would very much recommend them, but have heard that the ones sold at the mall are way overpriced for the quality.

That's the kind my friend buys. She usually gets them in different flavors -- I tried it once and it was pretty good!

You're supposed to be able to smoke them indoors where smoking usually isn't permitted because what's coming out is steam, not actual smoke. However, she hasn't really been brave enough to try that because of how rude people can be towards smokers.

If I ever had to go through quitting again (knock on wood, I've been doing okay these past 10 years!), I'd definitely go this route rather than cold turkey.

As a non-smoker, I must say that I love those things. Not for me...for smokers. They can use them all they want around me and it doesn't bother me.

I've never tried them but I think their are great. But you just know someone will have a horrible allergy to them for some reason and that they should be banned.

we bought one a few weeks ago to try it out (dh and i both smoke). it has cut our smoking WAY back (feeds the nicotine habit but does'nt feel the same-weight of 'cigarette' and just feel of smoking). got a second one a few days ago so we would both have one. as compared to smoking actual cigarettes i would estimate our smoking has gone down 2/3'rds.

they are almost impossible to get here-the smoke shops (only smoke shops and certain kiosks at the mall sell in our state) have'nt been able to get any since before christmas so they are pricey-but after the initial investment it comps out to costing 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost of a carton for a comparable supply of nicotine.

you can get the kind with filters or the kind that you fill with a nicotine type oil.

Really? I want to get one and that is something I would try. I want to quit smoking and this would probably help me.

I would probably have to send off for them. I can't see my mall ever carrying them.

I quit smoking last April using e-cigarettes. No desire to go back to the regular cigarettes.
