DH and I cannot decide where to go next winter...so we wondered, how is VB in Feb/March? I know the ocean would be cold, but are the pools ok? Is there enough going on at the resort to occupy kids age 3 & 7 and with the surrounding area? We don't want to do Orlando in Feb. again, just got back from a trip this Feb. and need a change. We are considering everything from Cancun, to a Disney Cruise, to Tampa beach, etc...

This is a nice time of year in central Florida.

Lows typically in the low to mid 50s. Highs typically in the mid to upper 70s. This is our dry season with rainfall 2.5 to 3.5 inches per month.

Guess it depends on if you enjoy cooler beach weather or not. Your thought about a cruise is very good.

Last March, it was cool and rainy in VB for my Spring Break. It wasn't very nice weather at all. Didn't stop us from having a good time, and we went back in June to much nicer weather.

PS. My spring break is always the 3rd full week in March, and we're going on a cruise this year. We alternate between cruises and Florida.

We've been several times to VB in Feb/March. It's our favorite time to visit, because the resort isn't extremely busy, but there is still plenty going on! It's so relaxing and fun that even if it's raining, it's beautiful and enjoyable.

We have two boys, ages 8 & 12 this year, but we've been there almost every Spring since the oldest was 3. They are never bored. Pool is warm and the slide is a blast!

On a rainy day, the Treasure Museum is fun to visit. There are lots of good restaurants around, too.

Do the campfire, the guided beach walks...

We've been in March. It was a bit nippy and windy so I couldn't really get into riding the waves, but once you're off the beach the wind dies down and the temps are nice, and the pool is always warm at 82. There will be plenty of activities at the resort and there is a lot to do around. Check out this VB Info thread for more details.

We usually travel the week that spans Feb/Mar. If I was looking for a beach vacation, I'd want to be a little bit farther south.

We've been there in late March and had great weather. The ocean was too cold for me (I need bath water temps!) but the kids enjoyed playing in the surf and it was definitely warm enough to enjoy relaxing on the beach or catching some rays. The pool was great and we love this "slower" time of year there!
