Has anyone been to Hershey Park or Dutch Wonderland in PA on Memorial Day? My friend wants us to go with her to one of those parks but I'm afraid it will be a zoo. I also haven't been to Hershey in years and have never been to Dutch Wonderland. Which would be a better choice? We have two kids ages 4 and 6. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :-)

I took my son to both when he was 4.

I didn't like Hershey for a 4 year old. There weren't a lot of rides we could ride together. Instead we spent our time either walking past rides he wanted to ride but couldn't, or me standing watching him ride a "kiddie" ride. It wasn't like Disney where you could do things together.

Dutch Wonderland, on the other hand, was perfect. It's tiny, and the lines were reasonable, and the rides are designed to enjoy as a family, like the ones at Disney. Plus there's a fun water play area and lots of grass. Just a delightful day out.

My friend's 8 year old was with us, and she liked Hershey slightly more but really enjoyed both. I think a 6 year old would still prefer DW or maybe like them equally.

Dutch Wonderland is great for small kids. We used to go all the time and it was never really crowded when we went.

Dutch Wonderland is perfect for that age...my kids always loved it even when they were a little older...never been there on Memorial Day but even when the parking lot has been packed the lines moved quickly.

Have fun!

Agree, with the ages of your kids, Dutchwonderland will be a better choice for you. It is Memorial day so the crowds will be big, but not xmas at disney crazy. Have a greta time.

Does anyone know the best way to get tickets? Do any grocery stores or websites offer discounts on tickets?

I know the Giant food stores have Hersheypark coupons but not sure about Dutch Wonderland. In past years, some fast food places like Wendy's or Dunkin had coupons in store for like four dollars off a ticket, maybe Turkey Hill minit mart too? If I see any around, I'll try to pop in and say.

Sorry, I meant Giant food stores have discounted tickets not coupons
