Just curious, as we seem to talk about WDW here alot but not much about DL!!!

I have been just the once, and if funds allowed would love to go back for the 50th celebrations next year.

We were just there this last July. I hadn't been for over 20 years and I was pleasantly suprised at how much I loved DL! I definitely plan to go back again sometime. :sunny:

We go quite regularly... course we live 60 miles away! :earsboy:

There is a specific forum on this board for Disneyland which may be why you don't see much mention of it here.

I've been too many times to count! My first visit was in the late 60's and we've been fortunate enough to keep going over the years (decades!). I love DL and we like to alternate between it and WDW.

We (DH, DD, DS) were there in February of 2000 with my parents, sister. I went there for a conference, and thought, oh no, I'm not going to Anaheim without my kids, even though they were young (DS was 1 1/2) Not the age I would have planned a trip, but it was GREAT!!! DD (3) was a little afraid - we encountered Beast first thing, not good!! But she warmed up as the week progressed. My mistake: thinking Wow, we've got 5 days here, we've got plenty of time. I could've stayed a month!!!

I loved being at the park Walt Disney himself had been in. The history. . .there was something special about it!

I'd go back in a second. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I lived in LA for a couple years, and went to DL while we were there. In fact, my BF has been to DL three times, without ever being to WDW. I think he's going to be really surprised at the differences.

I have a lot of affection for DL. It was the first Disney park I went to, back in the very early 1970's. It's the whole reason I'm in my current career--it had a profound influence on me. I still love it.

I do notice the differences now that I'm older, though, especially in more recent visits. It's smaller and more cramped than WDW, with narrow sidewalks. It is almost always crowded (because in a metropolitan area the size of LA, there are always people to fill it up, regardless of the season). Two of the hotels are pretty much un-themed, especially in comparison to WDW resorts.

DL also has a very high quotient of loud, rude teenagers there without adult supervision. I'm not being negative--I think I was probably pretty annoying as a teenager too--but every day after about 3:00, you just get huge swarms of unsupervised teens.

Like I said, I love both DL and WDW, and I think every Disney fan should experience both. My boyfriend, on the other hand, hates loud teens and crowds, so I'm really eager for him to see WDW. :D

My DH and I went to DL for the first time last year. We loved it! We squeezed one day into a trip to San Diego. I don't know what we were thinking! That one day was the highlight of our whole trip! As WDW lovers, we should have known to spend more time at DL. We've already got a trip back planned for the 50th celebration next year. I can't wait to go back and spend some more time there!

DH and I just went in September. We spent 2 days and had a great time. The crowds were not bad!!

California Adventure was fabulous! We were a little disappointed that so many attractions in Disneyland were closed for refurbishment, but other than that it was great.

The most fun was trying to pick out the differences in the attractions in FL and their counterparts in CA.

Go if you get the chance!!!

I have only been once. I was in my college marching band and when we played UCLA we were invited to do a parade in DL. So we only had a short day there after getting ready and then marching. I honestly don't remember many rides there. Sad isn't it? I hardly remember anything actually....and I didn't drink either!!! I can remember lining up "backstage", marching, then performing on Main Street, and some odd things. But I have no memories of the castle, PoC, the Matterhorn....none of that. Very sad....I MUST get back. I do remember my friend and I trying on all these crazy hats and taking pics of ourselves though...and the outside of iasw. That's it.

I have gone 3 times and like it quite a bit. You do notice differences, but not too much. Sometimes I will get confused, and not realize I am in the other MK (like when I am giving directions, or trying to remember which one has Pinoccio).

Just got back from a 5 day trip over Halloween.

Live in MN, Have Premium AP and go 5-6 times per year. Already have reservations for May 5th and July 17th.

I love DL. I grew up at DL because I live near in CA. What's nice about it because it is a classic.

I love it! I guess I have also been going there almost every year since I was 3 years old, living in Las Vegas, it was quite easy for my family. I agree that it is a classic!!
I have been to 3 out of the 4 Disney parks (so far) and they are all special and unique. Any time you get a chance to go to a new one, DO! I agree with crusin'minnie, that the best part is finding the differences in the parks and comparing them. I only wish that I could go more often...after a little while I need my Disney fix, and any Disney park will do!
