Wait a minute. Everyone is always told to take personal issues and opinions to PM's. If in the past we adressed issues or people directly on the boards, we were deleted and told to take it to PMs -- now should we bring it to the boards by posting a black list of who we think is "good" or "bad", or any other "stuff" that goes on in PM's?

This kind of passive agressive, he said, she said but I'm not going to name names, but he/she's bad too, brought to the boards divides as much as the "black list" PM crap.

Anyone who's been around here knows where the line is drawn and who is on which side and what the heck everyone is talking about on either side. Personally, I'm sick of it and chose a little while ago to put a lot of people on ignore. It's helped my DISing experience. May I suggest that to everyone that has a problem with others on the CB, no matter which side one is on.

Like snoopy, I recently realized how trivial and juvenille all the in fighting is. I choose to ignore it now. I'm neutral about it all, but I guess since this is the first thread I saw on a beautiful Sunday morning, it ticked me off enough to have to say something.

Everyone is here of their own volition. If they got to the CB, apparently they were able to think for themselves. If they're sent a PM, no matter what's in the PM, I'm sure they can think for themselves once again.

Now I'm off to enjoy the CB for what it is -- a place to enjoy with friends and new friends.

No worries as I don't think I would listen to it any way. I tend to make up my own mind.

I think I'm pretty out of loop on most things going on here, but I tend to like to try and see all sides before making my own judgement.

Then why do PM's even exist?? And Patrick, are you challenging people to post things about other DISers publicly?? I thought that was against the rules?? For example, let's just say a DISer was banned and comes back as someone else...it's OK to post on the DIS a thread saying "so and so" is "so and so" but PMing someone would be "cowardly"?? I thought it was just following DIS guidelines.

I'm sure DISers are NEVER discussed in PMs between mods tho. (Oh...there's a board for that tho.)

Maggie...I agree that the whole thing is juvenille. Mare..I might have been mistaken and should not have posted that the list should be public, I'll admit that. That would indeed be hurtful to the posters involved. I believe everyone should be accepted here on the dis, regardless of what anyone feels towards another individual. No debate from me...I am off to mass.

I think that Browneyes' initial post is extremely relevant. There are a few "seers" around here who feel that "they know best" for everyone. When dealing with such "well-meaning" folks, I would urge them to observe the adage:

I don't think any of this is relevant. If you don't want be "warned" about someone, then tell the "warner" to mind their own business.

It really shouldn't surprise me that this behaviour goes on (are we still in high school???), and like Judi said, the person/people (?) doing so, really need to get a life.

And people wonder why the CB is "not the same"? This kind of malicious gossip can only do more harm than good. How one person can decide who is bad and who isn't, isn't right. But I guess I'm curious as to why they think they have the right to send PMs "warning" others. What makes them so special? Having never been the recipient of such a warning, perhaps I don't understand because I have never seen one, but I would be wary of the intentions of the person sending it anyway.

Mare, as for the mods discussing posters in PMs, they do. They have to if they are discussing a problem thread or problem poster, that is what they agreed to do when they were asked to become a moderator.

All I can say is that whoever is pming people with pure gossip based only on their opinion, really needs to grow up. Nothing good comes of gossip, and nothing good can come of this, but hurt feelings and division among CBers. Why would anyone want to do that? It is sad that someone has nothing better to do than bad mouth other people, I would have to think twice about a person who does that, especially through gossip to people who have not been allowed to make their own opinions. Honestly, I would feel that the person is trying to start trouble, and harbor ill feelings towards others on the CB. Kind of sad if you ask me.
