Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Johnsonet - I agree with GF RPC. I have never stayed there, but you have wanted to and your best friend likes things fancy. Then it gets my vote. Remember, you have to be happy too!

Hightown - I wish you a fantastic trip. May you have much magic and great weather. Let us know how everything went when you get back.

:sad2: I'm still fighting the crud!

Sending prayers, pd, and joy to everyone :wave2:

I guess I shouldn't have said "Snob". That wasn't very nice of me...except that she'd agree;) Thank you all for your advice. It really is the best choice for a trip with this personprincess: princess: She would LOVE it!! And I'd love the pampering...I just don't want to regret it when I know from experience how amazing the folks at BWI IPO and AKL IPO are:smooth:

Have a great Friday evening:wave2:

OH! And GoofyJoofy Fear not on the massage...My friend likes to get 90-minute massages as often as she can!!:earseek:

Liz, you're definitely not going to get the warm, fuzzies from the pre-planners at the GF. I'm experiencing the amazing CM's that are over at YC/BC/BWI right now and there is no comparison between the two. I will say that despite their coolness, the GF staff is very professional and has always gone out of their way for us. I love the RPC lounge and it's especially nice in the evenings. We've always spent more time here than in our rooms or in the parks. I think your girlfriend would like it here.

Hightown, have a great trip. Can't wait to hear all about it.

I'm in the crud club finally. My head feels like it's stuffed with cotton, I have cankers inside my mouth and a hacking cough. YUCK. All I can say is thank goodness it's now and I'll be over it by the time vacation comes around. I bought all the fixings for a nice chicken soup tomorrow and I'm going to stay curled up on the couch.

Have a wonderful Friday night everyone. I just poured myself some mint hot chocolate from the Cocomotion machine. There's plenty left, so please help yourselves....

   Guess What?!?!

I just booked AKL Concierge for my birthday:bounce: To H-ll with my friend. She can either go with me or stay home:teeth: I have several other buddies who would LOVE to go to Disney World princess: princess: I can't wait!

I'm going to email AKL IPO right now and request 2 spots on a Sunset Safari as well as two on a Sunrise Safari during my 4-night stay. Andrea's going to think I've gone mad!!

Thanks for all the advice but I need to go with my heart on this - it's my birthday after all;) :teeth:

WAY TO GO JOHNSONET I couldn't agree with you more. Thats why I said "you have to be happy too". I can not imagine anyone not loving AKL especially Concierge. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am sitting here with a tummy acke but my head feels better. Didn't go to work again today :( But I have a week end to get better.

I did get my counter figured out....finally. I am waiting for tech support to approve a picture I put on of the mom and baby Ankole. Wonder how long that takes?

Donna - I sent you a pm :wave2:

Debbie (#1Hockeymom) - How you doing? Have not heard from you in some time. Hope everything is ok

Sending get well wishes for those that need it, pd and congrats for those that are leaving on their trip.

Good night:faint:

*waving from bed* It is 11:09, Friday night, and I can finally sit up and be semi coherent. Crud took a weird turn for the worst, and I ended up with the flu since Wednesday night. Dinner stayed down, so I know I am in a great turn for the better! Oh I am I glad you guys weren't too busy on the thread! Angel, you must have felt me working to get online.. (two wrong password tries.. brain not working yet) thanks for thinking of me! I am sorry if I got any children sick through virtual smilies!

Johsonset>> GO FOR IT, GIRL! I know how much you love AKL CL, too, and if that doesn't blow her away I don't know what will! I honestly didn't have it on my "must do" list, but once I walked into the lodge for the first time it is a no going back experience!

I can't wait to see BT's store! Please let us know when it is ready for its debut!

Big wave to everyone, and I can feel the pain of everyone with the crud. Drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest! Tammi>> stop driving to that rink! I know you can't, but I am betting my nightly drives an hour from town didn't help me any. soooo everyone take your kids out of all sports and sleep in this weekend! yeah, like that is going to happen *looking at hockey schedule* (but I will sleep in).

Night lizards!
Debbie

:wave2: Hello-its the LL with no counter-checking in with the crud. I just hate to be sick Its so annoying. We have soccer in the morning at 9am too-yuck.Its going to be freezing. Thank goodness when my DD competes in gymnastics-its inside.
Sorry I missed you at the Poly SteveandDonna. I would have done it (stand up and holler for ya)but my DH would have thought I was over the edge.
I already decided on this past trip that 10 days in a hotel room is too much to spend with your children when they're sick and fighting. See upcoming trip report-Mom Goes Ballistic in Disney.
I am already trying to plan another trip, but it may be in the summer. I cannot take the kids out of school again. I think i will be back to GF again-I just love it there. Already have DD-5y.o. trained-she loves the GF too-kept asking when we were going back to the GF and leaving the BC-LOL. My kids just love MK and so do I. I'm thinking of going back the very end of August and my DH thinks I am INSANE:crazy: We have already went once in early Sept. and it was very hot. How much of a difference could 2 weeks make? Any opinions? At least the parks are open later and we have travel vouchers for the airline because we were unable to fly home from our trip. Would only be the price of the room and food because we have our AP's and have flight vouchers.
HELP-I NEED a new counter-Quick!!!!!!!!
Prayers and PD for all who need it.
My dear friend came home today from the hospital. Isn't that the best news.....

That does NOT sound like fun. Sorry it was like that.

We went the last week of Aug this past summer. Yes its HOT and the park hours are a bit shorter than early Aug, but we loved it. The crowds were very manageable, especially in the morning. At each Park we were able to just walk on any attraction before 11:00. By 11:30 or so, the crowds did build, so we would take a lunch break or head back to the resort by 1:00. Then do an early dinner (5:00 or 5:30) then hit the parks again.

Wow that is awesome! You must be very elated :cloud9:

Hope the soccer game went well.

Have a great day everyone!

*waving to all of my fellow sickies*:thewave:....*sniff, cough, cough*...horrible sinus infection here....feels like I hit my head with a brick....or twelve.

I hope everyone gets well soon.:flower2:

Long week here, my brother had a serious fire (at his home) on election night so I've been helping him deal with the details...he's just not able to think.

I need a vacation! Not too long before I can say.... "Beam me up Scotty"...:space: Thank heavens!

samnbilly... I don't have much to compare it to, but we thought late August was a great time to travel. I am favoring August for our next summer trip, though it seems many LLs will be traveling in late July. Yes, it was hot, but the crowd level was very reasonable IMO. On the down side, hours were not quite as long at MK during the last week of August (most nights closed at 8:30 this year except for the two nights when Spectro was scheduled -- then it closed at 9:30). Also, there were no e-Nights if you're into that kind of thing. My biggest issue was more upon our return... we returned late Sunday night and school (and all the kids' fall activities) started almost immediately! Between that and my own work commitments, I was in catch-up mode for quite a while... :faint: For us, managing school vacation time is always a balancing act though... the more attractive summer camp opportunities are available during the "core" summer weeks up here, so late August has often been our "best" (read that , ONLY) time to travel... BTW, great news on your friend! I'm sure you are so relieved...

GoofySuse... My heart goes out to your DB... how awful for him...

Seems there is no shortage of difficult issues that folks are dealing with these days. I poke around the different threads and often get confused about what I've read where, so rather than retrace and recount, let me pass along a hug for all... :grouphug: And of course, hot tea, chicken soup and other healing goodies for any ailing Lizards...

 Popping in for a quick LL report!

I have put great thought and prayer in regards to the May LL meet at the BWI and have decided to make it a mini-meet during the same week, if possible.

Looking at first week of August for the Full BLOWN BWI/AKL
LL Meet 2005 !

For May, thinking about taking mom to YC CL and in August the BWI's Steeplechase Suite followed by one of the suites at AKL.
(or other way around!)

samnbilly...I was ROTFL when I read your post about going in August and your DH's reaction! NOW, you have the PERFECT reason to DO IT!:teeth:

Sorry I haven't spent much time here in the lounge, but we're so close to finishing the on-line store PLUS decorating the "real store" PLUS I have a show at local country club on Thursday and another country club show on the following Sunday!
(that will be the official "end of season" show and I can concentrate on ya'll!) :grouphug:

Grabbing a latte and I'm outta here!
See ya'll later!
And lots of ~*~*~*~*~* and prayers for the sick LLs!

Also wanted to add that we still have $$$$ on the Steeplechase and Sonora Suites, just in case we decide that May is still "in".

Now, have I completely confused everyone?
Including myself? LOL!

Angel16! I hope you don't mind, but I ran into your picture of Mommy Ankole and her new baby! I just have to post!
<img src="http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/2/70923Anchole_mom_calf-med.jpg"> She looks so proud! What a great mommy! *must go to AKL, must go to AKL, must go to AKL*

Debbie

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
Baby ankole is sooo precious! Are they out on the AKL's savanna like that?! I'm so surprised...I'd think they'd keep him safe indoors:teeth: Guess he's pretty safe out w/ Mom, huh?

So glad to hear from you Debbie and BT
Debbie, I'm so sorry you've been so ill. What a drag...

Take it easy everyone:wave2:

Goofymuse...thanks for the kind words...I'm going to go and visit him for a couple of days...make him some paprikas (our comfort food)...basically just to check up on him....

Oh...btw...I just read that MK will be open from 9 AM-12 Midnight on 11/21-11/27 so for all of you who will be there for Thanksgiving....woooo-wooooo!

Looking at first week of August for the Full BLOWN BWI/AKL LL Meet 2005 !
OMG! That would be AWESOME! That coincides with the week I "close shop" in the summer and I could actually do the full-blown Lizard Meet. You know it's fate...

GoofySuse how awful for your DB. to you for being such a good sister and taking care of him.

Good to see you back, #1hockeymom Hope you're feeling better. I think we'd better keep lots of echinacea and vitamin C in supply around this thread, and stock up on the Kleenex Extra Soft just in case!

Angel16 I pm'd you back.

It's a beautiful day here, 68 and sunny, not our usual November weather. We took the aunties out for lunch and a drive as it is the older one's 88th birthday today. We're trying to talk them into joining us in WDW again in early February, but the vision-impaired one is hesitant. Any tips on convincing her?

Time for tea and a magazine on the screened porch, though now I'll probably need the alpaca throw as it's getting cooler. I really need to be back in Disney, 'cuz the last remnants of this virus make me feel about 20 years older than my aunts!

Happy Weekend everyone!

:earseek: :earseek: On man, BT... you had to go and mention AKL and BWI for the summer and ALSO an August time frame! You MUST know these are next up on the Goofy family "short list"!!! Think I can get the camp to firm up their schedule soon so the Goofy's can say, "Sure, why not?" ;) :teeth:

Good Evening Lizzards,

Debbie - I don't have a problem with you posting my picture of the Ankole baby. I was pleasantly surprised to see him on the board. But.... I really need some help.

Now, I know that I have been feeling cruddy, but this whole thing with putting pictures on and adding cool graphics is just too HARD. I spent a great deal of time yesterday getting that picture on the boards and changing my counter. What I thought would happen to the picture was once it was approved by the tech support is they (web masters) would add it to the bottom of my signature area. Just like the wonderful picture of Kris's girls. What am I doing wrong????? When I went to bed last night the picture said "pending approval" with a blank picture frame around it. Now it is there. But not on my signature line. Ok, I give up!

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

On to the baby Ankole. Isn't he cute? Yes, he was on the main savannah. Vicky, our guide said that the female is such a great mom that they just let her deliver and stay out. The mom ankole likes being with the others on the savannah. It is natural like it would be in their home in Africa.
Vicky pointed out the older brother who was close by. He was a yearling, however, I cannot find that picture. Sorry

Debbie - I hope you feel better soon. I sure do know what you have been going through. Where do things stand with your Christmas trip?

BT - DH and myself will not be able to come in August. We will be out of the country. We moved our February trip to May to meet with you all.

Angel

Angel, I didn't put my picture into my signature line automatically; I uploaded it, it went to pending approval, and then I asked for help on the techhie board. Someone made it small enough for me and gave me a link to copy to use it in my signature. I copied it and pasted it into my User CP profile....

I'm a techical dolt, myself, and couldn't have managed it alone. The techhie board is full of wonderful people who almost hurt themselves, they help you so fast...much like this board!

And THANK YOU and the others who commented as well, for the compliments about my girls. I'm biased, but also think they're very pretty! Lisa, I'm glad you have someone to recognise us by! Don't forget, I'll have my name tag, too, and the lime green fanny pack.

My DH loves me. I got home wiped out from dayshift (have I mentioned that I hate dayshift? LOL) and he came home a few minutes later (also on dayshift). He had supper in hand, an oriental salad and a roasted chicken that he speedily shredded into it. I popped open a can of mandarin oranges and got out my yummy dressing and we were all set. Then he unloaded the dishwasher, while I folded two loads of laundry, and we're left feeling rather like a team without such a disaster of a house.

Debbie, how are you feeling? Fall is such a miserable time for everyone's health, it seems.

Two more days. This stretch is never a big deal; it's only 3, and the weekend is never usually as horrific as the weekdays. Mondays can be harrowing, but the Saturday and Sunday shifts are okay.

I have 10 more shifts to work before VACATION!!!! I am almost ready to start packing!

Excitement builds!!!! I am filled with envy for those who are there now, and deep sympathy for those whose counters are all done.

Sleep tight, Lizards!

Kris
