minniesota, I'm new here, but have been to Disney many many times and I know how awful you must feel! To lose a reservation for something so special...BUT you've been sick and you can't keep up with everything when you're under the weather. We'll have to send loads of PD your way and storm the heavens that your suite will open up again! Can you call everyday?? Have you booked a second choice?

Good evening fellow LLs. . .haven't had much to add lately, but I've kept up on the reading.

I can't help but notice so many birthdays and anniversaries on our little thread. Thought I'd just chime in and add that my husband and I are celebrating #23 on Saturday 10/9--it's also my birthday, but not #23. . .seems like yesterday for both though.

Congrats and to all of my fellow concierge aficionados! Could it be that October is the "official" month of the LLs?

As for the summer......
Let's face it.....it's just plain ol' HOT and HUMID in Florida!
(and Texas!)
That's why you stay deluxe and concierge, so you can relax by the fabulous pools and go to the parks either early am and/or in the evening.
Other than that.....you "LOUNGE around with the other LIZARDS in the LOUNGE" the rest of the day!

VAgal...those one bedroom suites are located on the ends of the pods that jut out on each savannah.
ie, like by the pool (Uzima) and on the other side facing the Sunset savnnah. They are 2nd -5th floors, and the ones by the pool have one on the first floor also.

WOW! Alot of lizards heading out to WDW!

Even though I've got somthing secured at the Dolphin for the marathon, DH is still miffed at the Poly for not getting us alternate accomodations. Send PD for a suite at the GF, please!

Oh, minniesota, all the pixie dust I can find is on its way to you. CRO inadvertently canecelled our December ressie not once, but twice, but managed to put things right (at least as of Sunday - who knows what next week will bring?) Keep calling and calling and calling...Seems like there have been a few "happy endings" on this thread, so you never know.

Thanks, guys. I didn't have the heart to tell DH tonight. Our MN Twins have their first playoff game against the Yankees and we're a big baseball family so everyone is watching the game downstairs. I came up for another glass of red and tried CRO again - you never know. I do appreciate being able to confide my failure to you guys knowing you understand and hey, your good wishes are heartfelt. I will continue to call and call. In the meantime, anything comparable to the garden suites that I should look at? Thanks. Go Twins. Wishing upon all the stars tonight.

Minniesota, I'm so sorry. There must be some solution for you - PD your way. I have been sick for the past 2 1/2 weeks, it really is going around.

To others, once you've paid your deposit, you don't have to pay again until you're there, right?

Those who know MMausse, please tell her my deepest sympathies as an owner of two kitty/humans. One thing that has helped us with losses is to create a small sacred kind of space with photos, favorite toy, etc.

Oh happy day!!! I called and got three of my four nights back!!! The first night is still unavailable but, heck, I'll camp somewhere the first night if I have to. It came to me in my sleep - and I know it was someone here who suggested it - "have CRO check day-by-day." Lo and behold! The last three nights were there! I made my deposit on the spot and booked a regular room for the first night (and even got it with an AP discount- the regular room, not the suite) so now the news won't be so hard to break to DH. I'm glad I didn't tell him last night. The Twins beat the Yankees and I got my suite!!! Thanks so much for all the pixie dust and kind thoughts.. You guys are the best!

minniesota Hooray I am gald you were able to get some nights back. You never know that last one may open up too. I am sooooooo happy the Yankees lost last night! I live in rex Sox territory and as long as the Yankees lose I am a happy person. Now it may be different when the Sox play the Twins next week!

I talked to mmausse for a while yesterday and she is doing OK. Her kitty was a special part of her life. She is a wonderful person and she ended up making me laugh and feel better!!!

Chocolate croissants and other goodies are out for all.

I posted this on one of the AKL FAQ but you folks are obviously experts too.

I want to get back to the AKL C for my trip 11/6-11/11. Have ap which would give the best rate but there are the other codes that can be used too.

Have read about folks 'adding a night or getting a night' at their discounts w/other nights non discounted. Then they check back to hopefully get other nights at discount.

When you do this, are you getting one ressie with differing rates during your stay--some discounted, some not? OR are you having to make a differnt ressie for each time the rate changes?

In checking on line, AKL conc has availability at rack for 11/7-11 but based on their on line for fall discount, only 11/7 & 11/8 show available at dicounted rate. Would I need two ressies?

Appreciate any help/guidance you can give.

Also, thinking of you mmausse. I've lost two kitties and know what that feels like.

If you book a package the balance is due 45 days before arrival. If it is room only the balance is due upon arrival. Though some confirmations for room only may say balance due at a certain time, like mine, call. They told me if the confirmation # is 12 long then balance is due on arrival.
