Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Oh, it must be hard trying to figure out whether to cancel a trip taking place in the next few weeks. We are not going until Nov6, so I think we'll be okay.

Orlando is still alot safer than other coastal areas, but the record this year hasn't been too good. Have a lot of people been cancelling?

Leaving homemade chocolate chip cookies out in the lounge for everyone tonight (especially for you, CaliforniaDreamer). Enjoy! :)

POLY IPO ROCKS

Guess who's having Christmas dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming????? Yes, that would be me.....:bounce: :Pinkbounc princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess:

I am a happy camper. :cloud9:

princess: :goodvibes :lovestruc

 to everyone in need.

Nitey, nite....:wave2: :wave2:

Steffy, that's great!

:bounce:

Angel, only you know what's best for your family. Dreamin' if it were me, I'd listen carefully to the predictions as it gets closer and then try my best to go. From what it sounds like, the park only closed on Sunday. People reported being able to ride everything twice on most of the other days as there were few lines! This may be an excellent opportunity to enjoy fewer crowds and more perks if people are cancelling. And Florida could use the tourism right now.

Elisabeth... thank you... (they *are* good!) :hyper:

Our counters look very close. We'll be at Poly Oct 22-29. Just have to agree with you on the Mommy brain thing. My first 2 each took a bit but my 3rd took a great big huge chunk! I swear some days I can't remember my own name! Gee I need a vacation!

Woody-How great to hear such wonderful news from you!

Kerry-thanks for thinking of me...DD loves Kindergarten but I'm finding it a bit tough....I miss the pickup/drop off and talking to the teachers. When I ask her how her day was she says "I don't know/I can't remember". I know she's really quiet at school but today she said she played with a classmate at recess. My DS LOVES preschool! And baby is changing so much. Talking a bit more and much less shy-I'll be bringing my harness to Disney so she won't run off.

Thanks for the treats Elizabeth! ;) Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a great Tuesday tomorrow!

We are also leaving on the 8th-really haven't given too much thought about cancelling. We've been watching reports and there don't appear to be any probs developing. Here's hope that this is the last that these poor people have to endure this year (and forever!). I know that I wouldn't be able to handle what they have already endured never mind any more! Hang in there guys! Wishing you sunshine and happiness from here on!

Good morning lizards!

I love hearing about the kindergarten and preschool kidlets - I remember those days so fondly! Now my babies are 13 and almost 11, though I can't for the life of me figure out how they got there so fast. Enjoy every day with them!

Hello Woody. I joined the lounge while you were taking care of you and baby but I read the entire thread so was well aware of your situation. I was on bed rest with both of my kids and I know how stressful it is (even though they don't want you to be stressed!) Glad to hear things are going well!

Fellow October lizards: We leave 2 weeks from Saturday and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that those nasty old hurricanes are finished with the poor state of Florida. Cancelling has not even entered my mind, though. On a wing and a prayer...

Speaking of October, my sister is making me a little nuts. We have a 2 bedroom suite at GF for 2 nights at the end of our trip (there are 8 of us). But she has hung on to a reservation at GF for 3 LV rooms. Now she thinks the 3 rooms would be better because we would all have our own space/rooms etc. (Is she trying to tell me something!?) So what would you do?

Thanks for the chocolate chip cookies - so good for breakfast on a Tuesday!

Minniesota, does the 2 bedroom suite at the GF come with concierge service? If so, then there's no contest. Just have her drop into the lizard lounge for a little chat, I'm sure everyone here will convince her that a suite is the way to go.

Tammi

I do know that all the 2 bdrm suites at GF now come with concierge services. I would consider keeping the suite. They do have 2 bdrms so you do have some privacy if needed. Worse case scenario is that you get there and it doesn't work out. Simply check and see if there is a separate room available that your sis can slide on into. I'm pretty sure they'll have something available for her nearby.

Tammi,

LOL! You have a really good idea, but I'm not sure if she's "lizard" material. She's the sister who is married to the tightest man on earth (we're talking money issues), so the lounge probably sounds frivolous to her. However, she called last night to inquire about breakfast plans (she was going to pack cereal, bagels, etc.) and then "fill in from Gasparillas." Closed, I said, but the lounge will have breakfast goodies for us! And if that doesn't work, since we can go to either lounge with the suite, maybe the wine and Baileys will persuade her! (Not for breakfast of course...but then again...)

Minniesota, that definitely sounds a lot like my own sister and husband. Maybe you should work on him then, if he knows he can get "free" food in the lounge all day, that might appeal. Plus, sometimes you don't know if you're lizard material until you've actually experienced it.

I agree with VAgal, just suggest that you all adopt a "try it and see" attitude. I have a feeling that once they see what it all entails, they are going to enjoy it. Who couldn't love sitting up in RPC sipping a glass of wine and watching that wonderful orchestra play. I'm hoping that's what heaven is like

And many, many thank-yous to you and other lizards for greeting our new lizards and giving such great information and advice!!!!!:grouphug:
KUDOS to you all!!!!:goodvibes

I've been very sick this last weekend, probably picked up a bug from the show....today, I feel better and am on my way back to ready the store for the next show... Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon and style show in two weeks.
Been popping in to check in on ya'll and made a clippie for Gail of the SD sorority, and Goofy'sMuse...I've got one in the making for you, sweetie! :teeth:

To SUITE or not to SUITE? That is the question!
A suite with concierge services is PURE HEAVEN !!!!:cloud9:

WELCOME to all the new LOUNGE LIZARDS!!!!!:wave2:

BT - I'm sorry to hear you've been under the weather - missed you around the lounge, too! I'm glad you are doing better.

All the talk about suites. Am I crazy for passing on the AKL suites for the GF 2 bdrm suite in hopes of an awesome view?

Minniesota, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you on how your stay went when you get back from GF.

BT - Are all the 2 bdrm suites on the outer edges at AKL? I believe they are, but just need to double check. I'd even considered a 1 bdrm, but if I went that route I believe we'd be fighting over who has to sleep on the sleep sofa . Also, I'm not to sure on the 1 bdrm suites location. I had a great location when we were there in June (thanks to BT for being that angel  watching over us), but now I'm SPOILED!!!!!

Maybe I should start playing the lottery so I can pay for all these suites....:scratchin

The Suite we had at AKL was fabulous and close to your room, VAgal!!!::yes::
Look at the AKL map, on the zebra trail, take the first right, the "pod" by the pool has two and one bedroom suites on the end!
FANTASTIC location! Near elevators to Mara, pool, laundry room, kids club, & arcade (very important for DS)! ::yes::
Also, on the Kudo Trail, the "flip-flop" of the map, there are more suites on that pod facing the sunset savannah.
Remember, from the safari, this is where the giraffe barns are in the back.

I'm still trying to get a GF suite in the main building for December.
If we can't, I've got a regular RPC room that'll adjoin (not connect) to our deluxe room, for back-up.

Suites are like concierge....hard to stay in a regular room after you've been in a SUITE!

YES! We're SPOILED, SPOILED, SPOILED!!!!:earboy2:

I still have my map in with my disney "stuff." I had plan to start a scrap book, but just haven't had time to sit down to start it. I'll go back and look as I'm sure that will give me a better idea of room locations.

I wanted a suite in the main bldg at GF and it looks like they have them in other buildings, but they come with concierge services. I want to be in the main building with a spectacular view. There we go again with the spoiled thing - LOL! I'm looking at quotes again on the 2 bdrm suite at GF and something doesn't seem to be right. I have no idea where that figure came from??? I need to see what suite they've quoted me. But that's a good idea about getting a deluxe with adjoining standard. We may be one big happy family :grouphug: , but it can get a little squished in a standard room or a deluxe with a roll away :crowded:.

BT Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. Hope you are doing better today. Here is a  for you!

I am still trying to get a suite at the BW. The trouble is I really want one with a BW view and the majority have a garden view. I may have to settle. Right now they only have 2 days open in the middle of my trip and I really don't want to move to the suite and then back to a room. I think I may surprise my husband with a private dining in the room. He has been so good this past year he sure deserves many surprises!

I really want to go back to work next week. I have been so bored at home and it will keep me occupied until we leave. As long as I don't lift anything, just ring at the register or guest service I should be fine.

Hooray my counter is getting down there. I am so excited. Now please let me get a suite!!!!!
have a great afternoon everyone

KerryCM - I hope you'll have a swift recovery! Nothing sounds better than a trip to WDW. If you really want to work to pass away the time, you can most certainly take my place here  - but I don't think it's going to pass away the time as you hoped it would. I have quite a boring job :bored: , but it can also be frustrating because one minor issue - :badpc: - can you guess it?

Sprinkling around some of that sweet PD for you to get a suite - you and your DH deserve it.

LOL - tell her to give them to me! We have been trying to get switched over to GF for two weeks now to no avail!

Actually we are going the beginning of November so I am kidding. My mom is making me nuts trying to get switched over to GF (we are at the Poly). I know she will love it once we get there but in the meantime she still is hankering for GF.

Well, I just received my pre-planning packet from BC IPO. I am so excited. GF should really do this. In fact, I think I am going to suggest this to them while I am there. I now have my elevator card access. I think I might leave my transfers to the IPO at the BC. They seem to be helping me a little more than the GF. I am just stopping by quickly on my way out today. I have to go to a black tie affair tonight for my DH work-on a Tuesday. Oh well. Its at the Borgata in A.C. Maybe I can sneak down and play the slots for a little while. Maybe I can win some money for WDW! I've lost it now.
I know I'm going to be wishing I had a suite in Disney. That 3 bdrm suite at the Waldorf spoiled me. Its like concierge-once you have it, you don't want to go back. Hope all of you are well. I'll leave out some ice cold lemonade and some warm tea biscuits. :D
