Thanks to you both for the posts regarding DS. I am pretty sure allergies will not play a part b/c at the last eval., they checked the anatomy of his ears, as well as checked for infection. He will be going to another children's hosp. on Fri. for an additional eval. He appears to hear volume just fine, but various sounds and speech tones are heard much below a normal level. He had a very difficult birth and a stay in the NICU. He's had many difficulties since then. Another trip we will make this month is to his cardiologist in order to assess the hole in his heart. He's just been through so much already in his short little life. I know it can always be worse though, and I count my blessings everyday.

lovesdumbo....(LOL)!!!! I certainly can appreciate the sibling rivalry stories you describe. I already experience it every day with my one and two yr. olds!!! You know it's funny when DD WANTS a "time out" b/c her brother had one!! She'll actually put herself in the corner and demand to have one!!! Too funny!! How are DS's speech issues now?

I really believe we're all from the same mold..... As much as I love and adore GF, I'm itching to try something new for our Sept. trip. DH really wants to stay on the monorail though for the toddlers. Any words of wisdom out there???

I sent an email off to AKL IPO this afternoon warning of our excitement in changing resorts! I have since received 3 count them THREE from Don welcoming us back and going over our plans. OH I am so happy I changed! My whole outlook on this vacation has changed since they took over! He also mentioned that the beds would be taken care of so no one will be doubling up!

ACK! , Debbie! Now, you have ME thinking about adding AKL CL for our girls week in August!
I just ADORE that place and when you stay there often, they take VERY good care of you!

I know I've said it before but I'd give the Poly a chance. Your kids would love the pool, it is just so magical at night with the tiki torches and music and I assume you want this trip to be a bit more slow paced due to your "condition". I can't imagine a more relaxing resort with the swings and hammocks on the beach....and again you can walk to TTC to take direct monorail to Epcot.

I'm thinking maybe I'll do a meal at Boma so we can check out AKL for a possibility next year.

Kerry-Bubbles sounds adorable and sounds like just what you needed today.

Woody we have to wait for the school's therapist to evaluate my DS-we just got some quick advice from a therapist friend of a friend. By law the school has 60 days to respond and we were too late by 2 days so they aren't going to do it til school starts in September. He does talk a lot but he's very difficult to understand and even we have trouble understanding about 1/3 to 1/2 of what he says. I must admit he is getting better but we are anxious to get him help. We want his friends and teachers at preschool to understand him. And the poor little guy gets frustrated too. You have reminded me of just how blessed we are. We waited a while before having children and then had trouble getting pregnant. I never thought I'd be pregnant for the first time at 38. We are truly blessed with 3 healthy children.

Your DD is too funny! I wouldn't be surprised if my 3rd did something like that. Lately she's been a real screamer (my other 2 didn't do that). She doesn't want anyone to get anything over on her. I can relate to that being the baby of 6. I hope she starts talking soon!

"Mommy we're at Disney, lets go on the Pooh ride, get in the honey pot, here's Tigger-its bouncy, Mommy its raining now...." I barely remembered the rain in the Pooh ride. I guess he really does remember our Disney trip. Then he talked about his birthday cake and how he ate all the chocolate Mickey's off the cake. Then he said he was taking me to the Mike and Sulley ride. That sounds like a good idea for a ride to me.

You KNOW I love these stories about our children & WDW~! How Priceless is this one?!? :cloud9 DD gives me special "tours" in the pool, as I float between reality/fantasy in the chaise. She has done this for years, since we began our summer treks. She guides me along over the top of the surface, and speaks softly and meditatively into my ears. With my eyes closed...She begins with our FC flight...and ends with our last eve @ WDW. She is so descriptive and detailed in her expressive delivery/soliloquy...I "lose myself" in a different place/time. It's a total "mind~escape" and so much fun. I beg her for this tour every so often, as our departure date nears. She always obliges...and fulfills my motherly soul with her kindness..and love. She makes my heart sing, as we meld together in the summer sunshine, and cool liquid blanket of our backyard water oasis. Children...are a never~ending source of TREASURE. Treasure...like these stories reflect. We are RICH, beyond our wildest dreams..each & every one of us.

FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO SAY, THANKS TO ALL YOU LOUNGE LIZARDS I'M GOING TO BE STAYING AT AKL CL BECAUSE OF ALL THE GREAT THINGS I'VE HEARD!

BUT:

I'LL BE CHECKING INTO THE AKL CL SEPT 14 THRU SEPT 21........WHEN MY 90 DAY MARK CAME STROLLING AROUND I WAS PRETTY CONFIDENT THAT THEY WOULD BE CONTACTING ME WHICH EVEN TILL THIS DAY THEY HAVEN'T.

I DID CONTACT THEM BEFORE MY 90 DAY MARK JUST TO LET THEM KNOW THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SCHEDULE A SUNRISE AND SUNSET SAFARI (SPOKE WITH ANDREA). AND ANDREA SAID SHE WOULD CALL WHEN SHE BOOKED IT, BECAUSE IT WAS STILL TO EARLY FOR HER TO SCHEDULE IT FOR ME. SHE NEVER CALLED AND I CALLED HER TO SEE IF IT WAS BOOKED AND IT WAS.

I ALSO CALLED THE OTHER DAY BECAUSE I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THE ILLUMINATIONS CRUISE (OF COURSE I HEARD ABOUT THIS ON THESE SPECTACULAR BOARDS) AND WANTED TO BOOK ONE BUT IT WAS TO LATE THEY ARE ALL BOOKED UP THIS HAS TO BE DONE 90 DAYS IN ADVANCE (I DIDN'T KNOW THIS).

NOW MY QUESTION IS..........I THOUGHT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO CONTACT YOU WITH ANY PLANNING SHOULD I ALWAYS BE CONTACTING THEM? OR IS IT THAT MY EXPECTATIONS ARE ALITTLE TO HIGH (MAYBE)

MY HUSBAND SAID I SHOULD CALL AND COMPLAIN BUT I'M NOT SURE IF I WANT TO TAKE THAT ROUTE

Magic1630 - I've dealt with Don and Sue at AKL IPO. I have had great experiences with the both of them. I did the initial contact and I believe most of the lizards also make the first contact. I would give it a hardy try again. Staying CL does help you with getting those hard to book items like cruises and CRT ressies. Some have had cruises and CRT's come up at the last moment before leaving so DO put your request in to them. They will get continue to check these activities for openings for you. Make no mistake, I believe the AKL CL WILL live up to its reputation. We just came back from a wonderful stay there and will be going back again!

DF - Did someone say celebration at Disney...where, where? Let's go! LOL... It would be awesome to have a true dismeet at WDW for all the lizards here! One of these days, we're all going to have to throw in the towel and "just do it."

You most certainly can wear your new Mickey Hawaiian PJs! I don't think they'll send us out of the lounge in that attire. We all should get a pair if we stay at the Poly. Jungle Mickey for AKL, Cowboy Mickey for WL, etc. We will all be soooo cute !

MAG1630>> Please don't give up on AKL! My best advice would be to contact them by email. I am always between phones anyways, and from 8-4:30 I am usually totally phoneless as far as personal phone calls go so email worked out the best. Their email is:

You really are picking out a fabulous place and if you've read here long enough I am sure you've seen my obsession with the place!

What about a progressive club level party? We could have breakfast at one, tea at another, appetizers at the next, desserts at the next, etc.! We could plan for a fabulous dinner at each resort, too! We could do this through two-three days in order to get everything in! One of our dinners would have to be the sunset safari, of course!
BTW Those red sandals rock!

I just notice my Song flight has dropped by $54 each ticket but when I called they won't give me a voucher because they said that it is a web only special and I didn't book on the web because you can't do an infant fare on the web. UGH.....It would be a voucher so that I could fly Song again. Don't they get it????? I guess I'll keep calling to see if they do drop the phone fares and to see if some other customer service rep can see my point of view. By they way it is just $155.20 round trip out of Boston's Logan. A really great fare. I just can't tell my DH. He didn't want to buy the tickets this early.....

BUY THEM! That is an excellent price! I have found that with airtran you really need to grab when they're hot because they do a lot of one day only fares. The discounts might stay around for a week, but there will be a day when the fares suddenly drop 20 or more dollars on both sides of the trip! If you're like me, you check airfares all the time so you know what normal/sale/and really good sale look like!

MAG1630 I understand your frustration as that was how my initial contact with AKL concierge went. It just seems that some guests receive a phone call or itinerary planning form and others don't (I didn't). But since I made contact with them (specifically Don) they have been terrific. Try e-mailing or calling him and let him know if any cancellations happen you'd like the Illuminations Cruise. They will do whatever they can to meet your requests.

I have been extremely impressed with Don and I haven't even met him or set foot on the AKL property yet. I am so looking forward to meeting him and enjoying the AKL CL.

Please don't let this sour your planning - sometimes things just fall through the cracks but I know you will ultimately be thrilled with the concierge there.

Unfortunatly I am on the couch today with some kind of stomach bug.

My twins just ran upstairs and when they came back they said, they would make me feel better.... When they came back they had on thier Mickey ears and had gotten me an italian ice, And when they gave it to me they said welcome to Animal Kingdom Lodge, Anything else we can get you.

They must be thinking about vacation!
