Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

For everyone curious about the views of the 3 non-suite rooms on 14th floor concierge at the Contemporary, I called and asked. They have varied views (some have MK/parking lot views and some have Bay Lake views). :)

Hi everyone!! Welcome home Tess! We looked for you, I think, now that I look at your picture again, that I passed your husband when coming up to the lounge from the first floor one day.
I remember the palm piloter's name too, he and the towel natzi were the only problems we encountered in a week, so I consider that a major accomplishment.
Anyone that wants to look at my pix and can't, pm me and I will tell you how to get in to them.
I have started a trip report, you can start reading it. I am only through the first day  it's taking forever!!!

lovesdumbo and steveanddonna... Good suggestion about the Poly. I'll talk it over with DH. Are the bathrooms small at Poly? I've heard that they are compared to GF and CR. steveanddonna.... Again, you prove to be a wonderful Aunt....swimming outside in yesterday's weather!!!! ::yes:: Everyone should have an Aunt like you!!! :) Gotta say though...I am enjoying the cool weather right now (for obvious reasons). :teeth:

annamonte.... P and PD for you!!! Like others have mentioned, the removal will be a BIG relief...not bad at all. I had 3 impacted and with 16 shots of novacaine - had them removed at one time. The worst for you is now. You'll feel much better when they're out!!!!

Thanks Elisabeth for the CR info. Welcome home Tess!!

Well, after 3 weeks of illness in our family, I thought we were in the clear. However, just put DS to bed. He just didn't look right to me so I took his temp...102 degrees. As I was leaving his room after goodnight kisses, he sat up and got sick all over his bed. Poor little guy. PLEASE send PD so that he gets better soon, sleeps through the night (he needs it), and so that DD doesn't get this one too!!! THANKS and NIGHTY NIGHT!!! :wave2:

Oh no, Woody! Stomach bugs are the worst! I will say a prayer that no one else in your family gets it and that your DS feels 100% better when he wakes up.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!!! I am starting to feel better thanks to the antibiotics. Now Friday can't come soon enough... can't wait to get it over with!

Tess: Welcome back!

WoodyRU: Oh, no... stomach virus!!! DS and DD both had it!!! P & PD coming your DS's way...!!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Oh no, WoodysRU! You are really going to NEED that September trip! Prayers & PD for your DS (& for you, too - so you keep your sanity until that trip rolls around!)

The bathrooms at the Poly are a bit small, and have only single basins in Hawaii. I guess it's a matter of perspective, though - our niece thought they were huge, and, living in a 110-yr-old home, we're always just thrilled to have decent water pressure.

#1hockeymom the gas heater is SO worth it! The first gas bill is a bit of a shock:faint: but you actaully get to use the pool! It has extended our season to May through October. You just need really big beach towels and some nice french terry cover-ups for the shock of stepping out into the chilly air.

Woody-I've never been to GF or CR but I didn't think the bathrooms were too small but it is just 1 room for all-no seperate sink and the sink is just a single but that makes for a fairly large vanity. The potty is sort of hidden in the corner. Here's a link to Tikiman's site. He has a photo of the vanity. The potty is behind the vanity(not in the photo).
Poly vanity

P & PD for your DS. We had some nasty bug run around our house for more than a month. You certainly don't need that!

Is it just where I live or is everyone coming down with these awful colds? I went to the doctors yesterday because I couldn't shake this cough and they sent me for an X-ray, She said I have PNUEMONIA!!! IN the SUMMER? I actually just feel a little drained but I would never have guessed PNUEMONIA!! They put me on Biaxin for 10 days.

CRAZY!

I'll put out some chicken soup for us all! W/ added P & PD!!!

I hear you, inthemood, having just gotten over what MD first thought was bronchitis - turned out to be walking pneumonia. There's also whooping cough going around here, and my niece's park district swim class was postponed after the first week due to an outbreak of hand, foot & mouth disease. Hope you're feeling better!

My advice to everyone: wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands!

Woody-Prayers and PD that your DS starts feeling better SOON! Hope you're doing well, too.

inthemood- our DS had a bad case of pnuemonia last month. That's a terrible thing to have. Hope you recover quickly. Prayers and PD to you too.

Good morning everyone!

Tess--
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was so nice talking with you and your dh. We really did love the poly. We did think it was a little crazy at times there. Liked the weekdays better. My boys were pretty good until the last couple of days this trip. Then they were back to their "brotherly love" routines. While trying to pack up to check out, DH came running upstairs from the pool, seems our 2 yo found a pile of fire ants and he and dh were covered with huge red welts. Put him in for a quick rinse off in the tub and he reached for something and cracked his head--huge, instant goose egg right in the middle of his forehead! He was a lovely sight in the AKL lounge for the rest of the afternoon. I do think I jinxed myself by saying we hadn't had the first aid kit out this trip! We also decided that the lvc are the best castle views we've seen--even better that the honeymoon concierge rooms at GF (we had a lovely view but down the marina, not the vast expansive view like poly). We just felt a little like a number there but we didn't spend that much time there either. We would definitely go back though.

I have finished uploading my 450 photos to ophoto.com. Does anyone know how I share them ? Should I take the family pix or names out? This is my first time doing this and I'd love to share--took many room pix at poly, bwi, and akl, but also want to be safe.

Another question, does anyone know about any ap rates for December--early, value season? Yes, we are hooked and since we got ap's for this trip and always wanted to see the holiday happenings we'd love it if discounts might be available. We might go back to try GF RPC since we really didn't utilize it for our honeymoon (being on a meal plan) crazy us. I'm just afraid this place might be really crowded with onlookers (kind of like when we stayed at Bellagio and all the people coming to look around). We also will probably go back for a couple of nights to AKL. Are the suites ever discounted? Since they are at the ends of the trails, is it a hike? Any help is appreciated.

Amazingly enough, no stomach bugs here yet (hope I haven't jinxed myself again!) My kids always seem to pick up those bugs. I feel for you. It is so difficult not to have everyone get it. Hopefully, it will just be a quick one!

I hope to start our first trip report. I first need to write Disney to let them know of some exceptional cast members this trip. We are off to visit my dad in Reno next week. Exact opposite of Disney, nothing but sitting by the pool with our bourbon slushes! Hope everyone who's going soon enjoys their time--we found most everyone particularly wonderful this time. Cast members and guests.

Have a great afternoon!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: OH, I am so there with you on this one! No wonder I keep on going on vacation; it was for a shower! Thanks for the heater advice. I have no idea who would swim today! I know we'll all be glad we have pools in a few weeks when the temps are near 100!

Oh my heart just goes out to everyone getting sick! I promise, I washed my hands after reading all of those posts! I'll leave some jello and some chicken soup, no noodles, out for everyone.
Lindseypol>> Your poor son! I hope he is unwelted by now! I remember the first time I went to my mother's new house in Fl. She was just about to explain fire ants to me, and I stepped off her yard into the neighbor's yard - and a fire ant hill. I haven't forgotten that step!

Nobody told me having your DD live in an apartment would make you see her more often! I have to say I like this part! Last night she is raiding our fridge, while saying "Kevin (my nephew) came over last night and ate all our food, I mean ALL of our food!" All I could do was crack up laughing and say "really? He never does that at our house." LMAO

Soup and jello on the sideboard! Cinnamon toast triangles for those who can keep that down for two hours! Enjoy your day, LL's!

Debbie

I am so sorry that so many of you are coming down with the *crud*. I agree with the statement WASH YOUR HANDS... frequently and often too. :D

I read at the Disney site where the WL Concierge offers robes in your room. Do they have them for the kids too as I have read at another resort. Also, are they for you to take home or do you leave them? (I'm not a real concierge type.... more the red-neck wanna be concierge type.)

I also heard that WL has there concierge rooms "blocked" from reservations for some reason... maybe upgrading the lounge? Any news on this? Thoughts or opinions? I got this from a Disney travel agent.

Thanks and looking forward to evening tea...

Kalen

Hey LL's,

Just wanted to say how excited I am about our upcoming trip and keep this thread on the first page.

Can't wait to hear from BT and VAgal.

Kalen-no kid sized robes and if you take them you'll get charged for them. You can purchase them but I don't know how much.

Thanks so much lovesdumbo. Ok, so we will be leaving the robes... also breaking up the fights with the kids over *who* gets the robes.

Oh well, such is the life and I guess if you want to live the life you must put up with such things....

Kalen

When we stayed at the GF for our honeymoon (* years ago) the robes were $125.00. I know that's ancient info, but I remember wanting one so badly... they were so soft and cuddly... but we decided to come home with other souveniers

Gee, I hope everyone's family gets quick!!! It is the worst when kids and husbands are sick.

Woody I hope things are going well with your pregnancy.

It is now my turn to ask for some PD. I am having my second cancer surgery tomorrow. I know I will be fine, but there is always that little voice in the back of your head to make you think. Seeing my grandson last week was the best medicine I could have had. Also having my grandaughter so nearby makes my day.
I am counting the days to my trip and having a massage at the BW health Club, breakfast with the princesses, my little one included and just enjoying life.

I can't wait for BT and VAgal to get back. I am anxious to hear all their wonderful news.
Goodnight everyone and hopefully I will be back by the weekend to chat.

Kerry>> This is to your continuous and quick recovery so you are soon cancer free! Lots of P and PD to you! We'll be thinking about you tomorrow morning!

Debbie

Kerry--lots of good thoughts and prayers for you. You must be a very strong person to keep so positive while struggling with this disease!
