Well, we have a 2 bedroom villa (thru skyauction) reserved for this weekend. I've been disappointed in the amount of pics and stuff the old website has, but the new one has tons of virtual tours & photos.

ALso, I called to let the front desk know that we will be arriving late. So, I thought I'd just ask where we were staying. Well, she told me in the 100 building, which is one of the new buildings. I asked about moving to the 1800 building which is right next to the pool, and she told me she didn't think I would want to do that b/c the rooms are smaller, and it is not one of the new sections. I figured since our reservation was thru skyauction we would probably be put in the older section anyway... but I guess not! :cool1:

Now I'm a little more excited after seeing the pics. They have PLASMA tv's!

Well, I just thought someone else might be interested in this!!

Thank you so much for posting the new web site. We arrive there on the 27th and I am so excited to be "scoping out" another resort! We are there with an RCI exchange and we are in the points section... Hopefully we will get a newer villa.
Thanks again! :wave2:

Melynny,
We are leaving on the 28th. Maybe we'll bump into each other on the 27th before we leave. :cool1:

Just so you know we have stayed in the older units and they are actually larger then the newer ones..and pretty nice too so you wouldnt be disappointed in either one I think

Thanks for the tip, Diane.

Actually, the more I read, I'm not so sure that the 100's are new, perhaps remodeled? B/c the pics show luxury rooms, & deluxe rooms. The deluxe rooms have the plasma tv's and look really new. They are buildings 800 & 900.

Oh well... I don't care... I'm just ready to go! LOL :Pinkbounc :moped:

KerriKaden, Yes, Maybe we will see each other! I think we are arriving around 3:00 pm. and I'll be hanging out near the pool for most of the weekend waiting for the crowds to lighten up.

I think the newer buildings are the ones with 4 digits in the building number. They also have more floors. I don't care as long as they all look like the pictures.

Hey.. I am joining you all... I check in on 5/29th in a 2 bedroom. I called & they said I am in a 2 bedroom lock out pool view, bldg 1800, 4th floor. If anyone has any info on how the 2 bedroom lock out is (bldg 1800), please let me know. I went onto the new web site & can't seem to find any pic's on the 1800 bldg. I have a brouchure from them but is shows the 1700 bld floor plans, no lock out. Thanks..... :flower:

We had a great time. We had a 1 bedroom with full kitchen in the new section building 900. We got this through SkyAuction. Our reservations said Silver Points and I think this means all the new sections. We really loved the feel of the resort and will definitly stay off-site again. The jacuzzi tub alone made it worth it. After a long day in the parks there is nothing like a nice long soak in the jacuzzi with a bath bomb from the Basin. There was just the two of us but there would have been plenty of room for the two kids. The couch pulled out into a bed and there was a door that could have been slid closed between the hall to the bedroom/bath and the living room/kitchen section. The beds were nice and comfortable. The washer dryer combo was in the bathroom and was the compact upper lower style. They left one box of detergent and gladly brought 2 more when we asked for another one. Towel exchange day was wednesday but they very nicely brought us clean towels when we asked on Monday. Customer service was fantastic our entire stay from the check in clerk to the maids we met in the hall. On check in we were directed to pick up our parking pass from a lady sitting at a desk across the lobby. This was there way of trying to get you to sign up for there time-share presentation. We politely declined and she wasn't pushy at all. The last night of our stay they slipped a flyer under the door with a "last chance offer" to have a free breakfast and tour the resort for $100 cash. We didn't and no one called to ask again. The resort is within easy commuting distance from all the Disney Parks and only about 15-20 minutes from Universal. Loved the Plasma screen TV, at least 52 inches. DVD and VCR in living room, neither in bedroom but a nice 25 inch. Nice screened in balconey. We were right near the back entrance to the resort which was Sherberth Road and let into the back way of Animal Kingdom. Loved the new website someone posted. This gives a much better pisture of what the resort is like. Before we left I wasn't too thrilled with the pictures we had seen. We were pleasantly surprised. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Sorry so long. Any Questions? :earsgirl:

The 1800 bldg is the only high-rise bldg and is next to the pool. I think they are smaller units, but it does have an elevator. The fitness room, computer room, arcade and video rental are all in the bottom floor of this bldg. The golf simulator is next door.

I stayed here last year, but I was in the 600 bldg.

I have questions:

luvnmy2bys: Was there a pool near you? I thought about requesting this area, but I wasn't sure if there was alot of construction, or if the other pool that is suppose to be near the 800 bld has been put in yet.

Straitlover: Is the 1800 bld older? I guess you probably didn't see the rooms in this building, huh?

Oh, well! I guess I shouldn't be so picky. I know my kids will want to hang out at the pool alot, so I don't want to be miles from it! LOL

THanks for your help!!

The new pool has not been built by the 800 building yet. I didn't find that the walk to the pool was far at all. This resort is not real spread out and we easily walked from our room to the pool in under 10 minutes probably closer to 5. No construction noises when we were there but did hear traffic noises from the road. Didn't bother us but I guess it might be a bother to some.

The 100 building is not in the new Silver Points section. I thought that was the first building built. There is a site plan on the SL website that shows the old and new sections. I believe they were doing some renovations to the 100-300 bldgs last May, though, so they might have put plasma TV's in them.

I think the 1800 and 1700 blds are new than the original buildings (100-700), but the units are smaller.

I called and they said im in the 1800 building. are these nice, does anyone know anytjing about this section. also thanks for the new website

The 1800 building is the tall one near the pool. Building 1700 and 1800 connect in the middle. These are not the newest units. They would be the second phase of three phases of construction.

The good news:

They did a cosmetic makeover of this building last year. The building and interiors were decorated in mauve and teal and screamed the 1980's. They repainted the exterior yellow and toned down the mauve and teal in the units.
There is an elevator for the 5 story building and plentiful parking. The units overlooking the pool have great views but can be noisy. The other side looks over the parking lot and scrubby land.

The units are smaller than in the oldest buildings but feel more cozy. They replaced the carpet with tile in many units. The decor is white on white with a few splashes of color.

There are two different floor plans for 1 bedroom units. Two bedroom units consist of a one bedroom unit and the bedroom with a partial kitchen next to it. The one bedroom units on the end that make up a three bedroom unit have a standard size bathtub. They are also a bit smaller.

Tips to improve your trip:

1. Bring slippers for the hard floors
2. Bring better sheets if you have room. I think the sheets are scratchy.
3. Use your key to enter and exit through the back gate onto Sherbeth Rd.

The resort is not fancy but is sure is convenient. I've stayed there about 9 weeks in every type of unit and would stay again because of its location.

I hope this helps.
