I am sure there are lots of people who ride a ride just to say they have done it, but for those that enjoy the ride for the experience and a connection to the movie, I would advise doing the 7DMT in the regular line at least once.
There are SO MANY things that you can find in the normal line that you can reflect upon and connect either with the movie, or some idiom of the dwarves life. Here are a few:
1> The singing dwarves head (or spout) that reacts to your hand
2> The intricate detail on the woodwork, door, etc
3> The barrels of gems and the effect of spinning them
4> The walls inside and hidden details (as if they have been dug/chipped)
There are ways to beat the long lines (rope drop, end of day, rainy day, etc), but if you have never done the regular line for 7DMT, you are missing on the real experience.
Oh... and make sure you stop at the exit (without blocking others) and look at the dwarves cottage. The detail and similarity to the cottage in the movie is simply amazing.
