When I made our ADRs for the HDDR, the CM told me that we needed to get there early in order to pick up our tickets? She knew we were on the DxDP and gave me an ADR. But she said that we should allow some extra time to get the tickets or we could have our concierge at the resort get them for us.

What's going on? Everywhere else, you just give them your ADR number and you're set to go. Is the HDDR different? We also have ADRs for the Spirit of Aloha show and received no such advice about getting tickets there. Thanks for your help with this!

We did the HDDR in Feb and had to have the resort Concierge print out our tickets before we went. We made sure to get them more than 24 hours in advance. you'll need to bring your tickets with you. They don't go by confirmation numbers there. I don't know what would happen if you didn't have your tickets though. I didn't want to find out...:lmao:

It's really not a problem to pick up your tickets at HDDR.
The window is to the left of the main entrance to HDDR, right near the restrooms. You just go there about 1/2 hour before the show and get the tickets. I think I had to show my license and my charge card but I don't really remember, it has been a few years. the lines are not ling to pick up tickets.
After you get the tickets you can wait in line to get into the show or just wander around a bit. They start the show on time and start seating about 15 min. before. they have seaters that will walk you to your table. It is really very organized so you don't have to rush the door to get in, everyone has assigned seating and pushing won't get anyone a better seat although many do.
I like getting there about 1 hour early and checking out the store and the area. the walk to the dock is short and if you get the last seating at 9:30 you might be able to catch some of the Wishes show from the dock. If you go to the earlier show stay on the dock for the fireworks, they are great from there.
Even if you pick up your tickets from consierge you still have to check in when you get to the restaraunt. there will be someone with a clipboard to cross your name off. then they will "strongly" suggest (more like push you over) to get the photo in front of the hokey background. During the show people will put the photos on the table and come back later to collect the cash. I have never purchased the photo, just don't need another overpriced photo where someone in the group is making a face.

You also need tickets for the luau -- get them the same way, at your resort.

Our ADR for the HDDR was noted on our portfolio when we checked in and we just picked them up at the concierge desk. I seem to recall that they asked if we were on the dining plan when I made the ADR and the name of resort where I'd be staying.

They were so helpful and even gave us exact information on how to get there and how to get back and apparantly through Disney magic at the end of the evening buses were lined up to take us back to all of the resorts. I'd imagine there is some sort of computer system that generates such magic. :wizard:

As a rule, my guess is the CM you spoke to was exercising a bit of CYA but really, it's not that big of a deal. Picking them up shouldn't be much of a problem either. It all works out.

Less stress, more fun!

We picked up the tickets at the front desk at our hotel. They told us to bring ID as well. I think because they will serve alcohol. It also says this on the tickets. We forgot (I remembered on the boat) but they never asked for the ID. We had a great time.
