Have to pay in advance for Thanksgiving PS'

Most here probably know this, and probably posted it in another thread.
I thought I would give a heads up.
I just called WDW DINE. I waited under 5 minutes. I was looking for PS for Garden Grill Thanksgiving Day. I decided to pass when I found out I had to pay now.
We live nearby and it is no big deal to us whether we eat at WDW or not. I decided to pass in case something did come up. Not worth the trouble for me.

Last Thanksgiving DH was here on his own. He was a walk up and was able to be seated for dinner. (Morocco)
We will just play it by ear that day.

Are you sure about that? I can't speak for GG, but we had to give a CC# to hold our whispering canyon ressie... We didn't actually pay now... They're just holding our ressie on a CC. They may reserve $1 of credit, but they won't charge our card, unless we fail to show.

That may be what it is. I don't recall the actual wording.
I was given a price and I had to provide a cc number. The impression I had was I would be charged now. I don't recall being told we would not be.
The CM stated we had x-number of hours to cancel (48 maybe?) and we could be refunded.
By being told refunded, I would assume we would have been charged?

But either way I decided to pass. For us it is no big issue whether we eat in the world or not Thanksgiving Day.

I don't remember the exact wording either, but we didn't have to pay up front, we did have to give cc # to guarantee the reservation/priority seating but they said there was a 48 hour cancellation and then we would be charged $10.00 per person (we have 7 in our party for Calif Grille) or something like that.

You are given until 48 hours BEFORE your dinner to cancel. I believe that they do not charge your card now, but if you don't show for your PS you will be charged $10 per person. I think that is what they told me.

We just made our Thanksgiving PS's the last few days...

11-24 : 6PM LTT in MK
11-25 : 9AM Ohana Character Breakfast
11-26 : 6PM dinner 50's PTC...

the only one I had to leave a CC# with was Thanksgiving Morning at Ohana's.

This was the case last year also for any holiday. We had to give cc# for NYE and New Years day breakfast. You can cancel without penalty 48 hrs in advance.

You do not have to "pay" for your dinner before you dine. You are guaranteeing your PS w/ a credit card and if you do not show, your credit card will be charged a certain amount per person. The PS go very quickly for Thanksgiving and Christmas and this is to prevent last minute no shows.
