Have to pay 3 deposits for split stay?

I knew we would have to get two sets of tickets because of splitting our stay between Pop and Contemp(we were going to get 8 day tix at Pop and then just a one day at Contemp.), but I wasn't anticipating having to get three sets!!!

Would you not go back to this senario (sp) now that you are going to change your dates? Then you could do what you had originaly planned.

Last year we had to pay 3 deposits for the same room We booked the first few days on an AP rate - 1st deposit, then the rest of our stay at rack - 2nd deposit, then changed our dates and extended our stay by a few days and they didn't have the same room available for the last night so yes another deposit.

In reality we stayed in the same room for the whole stay.

We booked on Wed. 5 nights at the contemporary with deluxe dining! We only had to pay a $200 deposit, since it was a package. We're still planning to add more days at the beginning of the trip if a theme park view comes open (that's what we have now). We'll have to do it before March 31st though, as that is when our discount expires.

I'm over the whole ordeal with deposits, but I still don't understand why you have to pay so many, especially if you're staying in the same resort, and most likely, the same room. Another poster said that it was because you could check out at the end of the first res and not stay the rest and Disney would lose money........but you have to be paid in full before you get there, so what would disney care if you did check out early? THEY'VE ALREADY GOT YOUR MONEY!!!

Again, I think the thing you need to focus on is that the systems are made for the vast majority of guests, who make one reservation with one rate, check in, check out, end-of-story. There simply aren't enough people regularly making back-to-back reservations at hotels nationwide for hotel reservation computer systems to be designed to account for that small minority of guests.
