My TA emailed me today and Disney made a mistake - our ressie at POFQ is confirmed for November 18-23. Problem is our trip is October 18-23. The only availability is a deluxe room at AKL that is way more than I want to pay with a baby coming in January. There is also availbility at Pop with an AAA rate - $468 with tax for five nights. Honestly, that rate looks really great to me since we are used to paying for deluxes and I have heard great things about Pop.

DH and I spent one night at ASSports before checking into AKL one trip and DH HATED it. I think we just might have caught the resort at a busy time - it was spring break and there were loud teenagers everywhere. The rooms were really small but it is just the two of us. We were hoping this would be a relaxing, non-commando trip (especially since I'll be about 6 1/2 months pregnant) and were planning on hanging out at the resort a lot.

Is there a certain section of the resort we should request? Any suggestions for making a value resort vacation a relaxing vacation?

I know you must be bummed as we would be too but the POP was awesome when we stayed there 2xs! The decor is great, the lobby is great, man will it take you back, the food was very very good and the place was not that busy (we went last Sept).....and hey, smile you are in DISNEY!!!!!!

Hey,! My DH hates the Allstars.. and loves POP.. maybe you will be lucky too! The rooms at Pop are decorated in a much more adult friendly decor.... and they do seem to be a little more luxurious than the regular values. Most of the time if we have a choice, we choose to save the $$ and stay at Pop, even though we could afford a moderate. You'll love it!

We stayed in the 70s building behind the Mickey Phone facing the lake. It was very quiet. You are close to the food court and buses. We drove and it is a walk to the parking lot.

We just stayed there and then moved to AKL and we liked things about each hotel.

I liked POP a lot more than I expected and had a great time. It wasn't too noisy, the bowling pin pool was great and the line at the food court moved quickly! I'd stay their again any time.

Can't Disney give you a moderate at a value price since they screwed up?

There aren't any mods available. The Dolphin was available for part of our dates a few days ago but it isn't now.

I just read the great thread about Pop so I'm excited about having a new WDW experience!

With being that pregnant, I would put on your request "close to the Classic Hall and Bus stop." That way if you are flexible about your bldg you will most likely get your request. I think they should through in preferred bldg. for free for your trouble, or was it not Disney's mistake but your TAs?

1st, your going to love POP. Lots of fun.
2nd, don't want to get anyone in trouble, but I don't think it was Disney who made the mistake. :rolleyes1 More like your TA. Doesn't matter. Not only are you booked at a resort you're gonna love, you saved a ton of money.

We stayed at POP (80's) last fall; during Hurricane Charley!!

We greatly enjoyed it! The layout of the place is nice, the decor is cool, and the food court handled EVERYONE getting lunch at the same time.

Yeah, the lines were long, but we all got fed and were safe from the hurricane!

The bus service seems better than AS, too.

And, we liked it so much we're going to be staying there when we go this Nov.!!

We stayed at POP (50s) and loved it. In fact we enjoyed it SOOOO much more than POR. The place was cleaner, the staff was friendlier, over all the place was amazing.

I am a deluxe person all the way. When my girlfriends said we were staying at Pop for our Girls weekend I about fell on the floor. I didn't know how I was going to handle walking outside to go get a drink or something to eat! But I survived and am here to say it was wonderful! The food court is the best on Disney property IMO. The little bar is very nice too with lots of comfy chairs. Have a wonderful trip! And don't forget to take it easy and drink lots of water.
