Yesterday while DS was at VPK I shot over to Home Depot, bought a dowel and a flat peice of wood scrapping, came home made the dowel 40"(with an extra 2mm just to be safe) put the flat piece of wood on top. This morning I had DS stand up under it, and guess what? He passes the paper test!! I didn't tell him that since it's worked out great using Star Tours as a reason to eat more veggies so he can be tall enough! We leave on the 28th, it's a "surprise" trip, this is awesome!:cool1:

I'm going to move this to the happy dance board! Your son will be so excited to ride the 40 inch attractions! Have fun!

It's a good idea you are keeping it to yourself. Not to be Debbie Downer, but Disney 40 inches doesn't always match the 40 inches at home or Doctor's office etc. I have even heard of height measuring sticks being slightly different at the front of the line and at the ride boarding checkpoint; or kids measuring fine at one ride but not another. Just something to keep in mind.

I thought about that aspect of it as well, thats the other reason I don't want to tell him just in case. We don't want any tears b/c I gave him false hope! It gives me a lot of hope though b/c the dowel is slightly higher than 40"!

Ok, now I'm paranoid! Seriously, if there are any Cast Members that work at HS on this board, please feel free to measure the post outside of Star Tours for me! :rotfl: Is it actually 40" or is it closer to 41"? I want to go on Star Tours but will not do it without DS! It was torture for me during SWW! :lmao:

Did you measure with or without shoes on.

40 with out shoes you should be OK with shoes maybe not.

I can personally say that their "measurement" is no thte same. I took my son to dr. a week before we left, and they measured him. We got to Disney and they measured him at the park and said he wasn't tall enough and he had shoes on there!!! Hope everything works out for you!!

Thanks for the heads up everyone! I'm typing this from my android so if it looks nuts that's why. I think once we reveal the surprise iwe will just make it known that he probably wont be able to ride this time. Then if he gets too it will be a big bonus! Either way i will still have "eat your veggies" leverage so its win win no matter what!
