Headed there this week and never gone in May…however have heard horror stories about these things…anyone there now or live in the area who can tell me if they’ve descended yet and if so, how thick are they?
Thanks!

I have seen maybe 3 or 4. I come often at the end of April thru middle of May. This year has been great with no problems at all. Been here since 4/27 and leaving 5/12.

We are local and haven't seen the love bugs yet

We went in early May, 2019 and those bugs were around at times. No big deal, they don't bite/sting so just more of a nuisance. Saw more of them in some places then others. Didn't notice them in the parks, not sure if Disney sprays after hours or for some other reason they weren't around. Mostly saw them around the resort where we were staying.

Yes, they have arrived, but they don’t seem to bad so far. I have maybe 20 on my car. Saw only 2 flying yesterday.

We live an hour away and there are quite a few around. Not horrible though. I don’t think they’re too noticeable in the parks

I saw a few in my lanai and a couple on my windshield/mirror. Now that I think about it, there was one yesterday inside a Walgreens' here in central Florida. I think they are just starting their invasion.

Saw a couple a week ago and the numbers have been growing, but not bad yet. Funny thing is it depends on where you are. We live in Polk City and our Love Bug invasion was almost over last year, but my wife works in Winter Haven (about 20 minutes south of our house) and they were all over the place. Don't know if it's geography or temperature or something else but the volume isn't the same all over at the same time. Good thing they only last about two weeks and you don't have to worry again until September.
Now what's worse is the 17 year cicadas are back again up north. Now those things were a pain!

I will echo what others have said, I’m at WL and have been pool side and seen a few flying around. They haven’t been a problem at all, even for my little kids.

We’ve been to WDW 5 times over the last 10 years, all trips were end of May and we have never experienced an issue with love bugs.

I swept a couple hundred off my front porch today, but I live out in the country. There never seem to be very many around the resorts or parks-thank goodness!

We drove home to Orlando from Longboat Key yesterday, and the front of the car was covered. And we have a light-colored house, which they are also attracted to. They're here now.

You should get them off the car ASAP. Their dead bodies contain some agent that removes paint.
