Have the fall AP hotel rates been released yet?

I've been rethinking our possible trip to DLR for July now. I am just so spoiled with off season rates and crowds. So I think we're either going to go the week of Labor Day (is it crazy that week since Monday is a holiday? Looking at 9/5-9/9 most likely) or the following week (9/12-9/16). I've been eyeing a few off-site hotels but would like to look into staying at PP or DLH. Just curious if anyone has booked on site around that time and gotten a decent AP discount? I've always stayed off site so I have no idea how far in advance they offer their discounts. :confused3

There are 2 kinds of AP rates. The first kind, which you would could book now, are aobut 10% off the standard rack rate. The 2nd kind are the deep discount rates that everyone hopes for. Those rates are not typically available until really close to the dates. They base those super cheap rates on how full the hotels are.

With some of the 50th celebration ending in Sept, I would expect it to be busy.

We went the second full week after Labor Day last year and the week immediately following Labor Day a couple of years ago. The crowds were not bad at all. I guess you can't count on that for sure this year with the 50th celebration coming to a close, but I bet it won't be that bad. There weren't any deep AP discounts at that time, but they were having the "stay four nights for the price of three" promotion. So I guess they might do that again? The only other thing about those weeks (last year at least) is that the schedule changes drastically. Much shorter hours (DL was open from 10-8 on the weekdays and DCA was open from 10-6), most entertainment limited to the weekends, and last year Labor Day weekend was the last weekend of the Electrical Parade. So you'd be risking missing out on that, which may or may not be important to you.

Even without a discount, the rates will be significantly lower for those weeks than for July, but I really think you can almost count on either a discount or the "four nights for the price of three" thing.

We're going at a busier time of year this year just for a change of pace. But I'm sure we'll go back to September next year. With three kids under five, the longer hours probably won't be a big enough incentive to deal with bigger crowds. :)

I was there this last year on the Friday following Labor Day and couldn't believe how not crowded it was. The weather was also perfect! We are going to go every year on this day from now on!

I just talked to Guest Services today and at this point they do not have any AP rates out for May!! The CM said they generally come out about a month prior. I don't think you'll see September rates until July or August. you can be guaranteed the 10%, but that's it right now.

If you purchase a package at a 10% AP discount and they offer a better discount closer to your trip, are you allowed to request the better discount? I would think so but just checking?
