We stayed in the Touchdown section a couple of years ago and found the walk to food court/main building/bus stop to be very convenient. Have your request noted on your reservation so it will be in the computer.

The touchdown section is very close. If you don't get it though, no matter what section they put you in, it is no more than a few minute walk to all the action. The all stars are laid out very well. Someone really used their heads when they put this resort together.

We love the sports.

I tried to get the POP for my Sept/Oct trip and could only get the ASsp. I did however get a preferred room w/free dining. I have walking issues. I usually rent an ECV but this is just a MOM/son trip. DS6 and I will try to walk it as if I get an EVC he would have to walk with me and if he gets to tired I can always rent a stroller.

OK the question. Did I really need a preferred room at ASsp? I know at POP I ended up in the furthest blding from the food court/bus stop and by the end of the day I was dragging my leg on our last MOM/son trip. Also is there a better room in the preferred? I just asked for NS (asthma both of us) and either 1st floor or close to the elevator for medical reasons. I have the # for the EVC rentals in WDW on speed dial in my cell phone . How much closer is preferred than standard?

Thanks for you help.

We stayed at the ASSp in Nov. 2003. I believe the name of the building for our preferred room was Surfboard. We requested a ground floor room and were very happy with our location. We literally opened our door and walked a few steps to the pool. Also, we were RIGHT by the food court, which was very convenient. The food court is connected to the arcade. The only thing that may bother some people is that it was pretty noisy late into the night (esp. by the pool). We slept in one morning (or tried to) and a group of kids over our room ran back and forth on the balcony, screaming from 7:00 until 7:30 am. Other than that we were really happy with our room and the location.

Ooops, just remembered- the name of the building was "Surf's Up" not Surfboard!!
