Entire extended family (17 of us) will be going to disney 2/06. We have decided that we will not be spending everyday/allday together. What things are best to do as a large group. Grandma wants to definetly spend some quality time with grandchildren. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :goodvibes

I would plan to meet up once a day for meals. Then afterwards grandma can hang out with you. Or you guys can spend a few days together or start mornings out together or something.

I think not spending every minute together is a great idea. Too many people with too many agendas.

I would plan events for some day - Dinner at GF with Cinderella, Breakfast at Chef Mickeys- both buffets with something for everyone.

Maybe a certain time to watch fireworks one night, meet up for a parade another day.

You could make a loose schedule and let those who want to meet up do so.

Oh, an afternoon at the pool, too.

besides on making a plan to meet once a day - make sure that you have someway to communicate - walkie talkies - cell phones - this way if you want to meet up for a parade and someone can't get thru - no one will be mad because they think they are being stood up

The water parks probably will not work for grandparents but we have found that they are a wonderful family day for everyone else.

my family did a family vacation of 20 back in 2000, i'm also in the process of planning my wdw wedding for 55.

some suggestions:
-stay at the same resort, we did it was nice eating breakfast, swimming at the pool together or splitting into groups, you could even get a group code discount if you book 10+ guest rooms.
-plan some down time, i dont suggest every moment together. plan specific events like a welcome dinner, farewell breakfast, day at the park, afternoon swimming, kids only pirate cruise, hayride, golf & spa, fantasmic dinner package or adults only night at pleasure island - enlist the help of some family babysitters to young to old to join at pleasure island but old enough to keep watch or book in room babysitting, our family used kids nite out for the young ones for an adult only night. we did these events together as a group then had time to enjoy alone & in smaller immediate groups.
-you will all have a great time, but you all must compromise, again suggestion above alone time, everyone will not always want to do the same thing.
-some airlines will offer group discounts, we all flew american airlines & got 10% off each rt fare.
-join the grand gatherings at waltdisneyworld.com for info on large group travel, special events & online polls for your group

last suggestion, have fun!
