Have no fear Hurricane Ed is on the Ready

Man okay still here the sliding glass doors are bowing in and are making almost an ark I just heard something weird next door so I'm to check on my neighbors

Wind getting worse power going in and out. Trust me I'm with June I'm over this.

Next Time I'm going to Chicago.

The trees are bending over the palm next door is nearly bent and on our 2nd floor deck.

I just saw a dog house and some garbage can go sailing across the street. (no dog inside relax)

OMG the wind just tried to rip my screen enclosure off I went out to nail it back and as fast as I was nailing it in the wind was pushing them back out that was intense

I'm soaking wet but what a rush.....

The screen is still there Now what I gotta see something just hit the house

Thanks for keeping us updated...good to hear you're safe!

Okay I made it I'm soaked no power on my laptop tied to my cell so this will be it from me.

No floods no major damage the wind is still howling and the thing that hit the house was a wheelbarrel from a construction site down the steet figures it would hit my house huh.

They tell me there is lots of damage in the city and now there is a curfue

I can still street lights from the second floor so it may not be that bad.

Thanks for all you prayers and concern I'm done almost just some outer bands and some gusts here and there, but Orlando is still getting beat up pretty bad so keep praying for them.

Tomorrow I'll be out giving my buds a hand cleaning up but right after I'm going to Disney World. can you snow birds say that :teeth:

I'll post and let you all know how the mouse house made out. And Darlene fear not I'll bet Mickey manor is fine.

OK, Ed --

After the screen door comes off the hinges, you have to watch for that final sign that you are in big trouble:

When you see the green lady fly by on the broomstick, it's time to panic! :earseek:

WOW! Real life drama as it takes place ... I thought you were going to Pop Century. What happened to all that duct tape - did you (oh, I mean Donna!) forget the sliding doors?

During Isabel we put a white creamy plastic over our screen doors - talk about eerie - you could hear the wind, but you could not see a thing.

Seriously, I am glad to be reading posts from you & Lynnie.

Waiting for the next chapter of this real life drama ...

P.S. I tried to post this earlier, but it didn't post.

I have been reading these posts all day. AWESOME. Just for the record, I am the one that is supposed to see the green lady flying by the window on a bike. We are known for that and our tornados in Kansas. Just wanted to let you know I am thinking and praying for everybody there. I am glad the worst is over for some of you and hope the damage isn't too bad. Some times these things tend to bring everybody together and I hope you have that experience in the light of dawn tomorrow. Thanks for all of the interesting info. we have been reading. It is amazing to be able to experience a taste of what you are living through. Good luck. :sunny:

I have not heard from anybody except Bob and June they have some damage and have no power, they are on a well, so they have no water either.

As for me well I came down to the office in Altamonte, and its like nothing happened. The power is on and all we had was just some water come in under the front door.

I did go to downtown Orlando all I can say is WOW!!! trees are down all over the place some of those trees are 100's of years old, and some windows are blown out on the big buildings, but they have the lights on, and the city looks battered but its there and they lit it up to show that it survived.

In my neighborhood trees are down, and there is debris everywhere. Manny your place is fine no leaks nothing, just some trash on the yard, and your stupid trellis came down AGAIN!!! but if you sneeze near it... it comes down.

Cell phones are useless for now I can only get through 1 out of 3 times. I came to check out the office and found power and Internet so I thought I would let you all know what is going on.

Power is out for 265'000 people in Orange county alone.

Charley is almost gone but now we have another one just like Charley following the same path.

Tomorrow I'll go check on Disney World and see whats going on there and as for power we got reservations at Pop Century. :teeth:

Update from Lake County--west of Orlando.

I consider myself very very lucky! Other than a few broken branches all looks well out there this morning. If the path had been a little more west....ugh.

However, others in FL weren't so lucky and I know the Carolinas are in the waiting mode to see what is going to happen....prayers all around!!!!

Keeping an eye on Danielle and Depression #5....they did predict a very active season, didn't they...

I just saw the pictures on CNN and my god it looks real bad down there.. We hope everyone is safe. And As Ed said they are tracking another storm.

I am so glad that everyone is okay so far.... are any of our pin buddies not accounted for??

Donna, sorry if we woke you up this morning but first thing I told Matt to do when I woke up this morning is to call you guys and make sure you were okay.

See.. that's what happens when you are good people, you have people worrying about you all over the place and waking you up when you are trying to sleep :)

Hmm.. all these hurricanes have me wondering. If I recall correctly, Jeff said the only natural disaster he hasn't been through is a Hurricane (not many of those in the desert). And we are due down there in less than a month....:scared: :faint: I better pack a raincoat and some extra duct tape for Donna!

We are still getting mixed reports of what will happen up here in VA. One minute they say it will miss us, the next minute they are telling us to get ready for some major flooding. Normally 6 inches of rain would make a mess but not too major but we have had so much rain lately that even thunderstorms are completely washing out roads, (I mean ripping the asphalt right off and people are driving into what they think is a large puddle and falling 6 feet into ravines and drowning in their cars!) leaving sinkholes and causing small streams to rise 3-4 feet into houses. Not to mention we are losing trees right to left.

Hmm.. wonder if Duct tape works on trees. Hey Donna?!?!.........

from unsunny Fla....Hey Lynnie...glad to see you are all right....

And Lauri...duct tape works just fine.....It saved Disney didn't it????? As yu will notice..the ball didn't budge... It toppled large planes at the airport....but that ball was there for the duration..

I sure hope everyone in his new path is ok....what happened in sw Fla was enought devastation....Orlando is pretty messed up too...

And now they have named Earl...and he is on the same path....enough is enough...I hope he dies out before he gets too much further... My niece lives in Cape Coral..right beside Punta Gorda..and rode out the storm in her bathroom w/ her 3 kids...they are all right....quite a bit of damage to the house, but she has a phone, and they are staying put!! You never know about the looters...they have some water, but no power..and wont for awhile....

So hang in there y'all

Yeah...wasnt it great goin' thru Charley?!? I was scared when he hit!!! We lost power 'round 6 that nite & didnt get it back 'til 11 last nite!!! Some birthday I had...spent all day Saturday cleanin' up our yard & pool...oh well...@ least we made it thru w|no disasterous damage!!!

Glad to see you guys made it through all right...it was very scary wasn't it?? I can't believe we only had the small amount of damage that we did...lots of shingles around..

Have you gone back to work yet..?? I went back on Mon...it was funny talking to people from all over the world who were here for Charly..they were scared to death, but were pleased w/ the way Disney handled their stays, especially when so many cm were unable to get in.. some weere a little snotty.not enough service, but there were not many of those..

I told them that this was a little extra attraction that Disney threw in for nothing..The Charley ride...not everyone would have this on their vacation..:p

We made it thru ok...I went back 2 work on Sun the 15th...there were a lot of trees down @ Sea World...needless 2 say we were sweepin' lots of leaves!!! Thank goodness only one structure was damaged durin' Charley...BaySide Stadium lost some shingles & tiles.

Im glad that u & Ed made it thru ok...u guys could have come over & we could have had a hurricane party...!!! That would have been fun!!! :p Im also glad every1 else came thru the storm ok!!!
