DH and I will be at POR 1/8-1/11/04 for 10th anniversary. Since we are traveling without kids thought rental car would be waste and booked Mears. Our return flight is 8:45 am and I've read on these boards that Mears will have us waiting outside resort at 4:30 a.m. UGH do not want to do that!!!

My question is, since trip is paid in full is it too late to upgrade from Mears to Towncar? Too late tonight to call travel agent. Anyone know?

Thanks

Could you check with Mears directly, either with an email or a telephone call, to see what they suggest?

Absolutely change to the towncar..no question...not very romantic being packed in the BACK of a van w/ 10 other people and your luggage on you laps and being the last to be dropped off after 1hr of driving around Disney property!!! That was our experience! Just cancel w/ Mears and call a car company. We have always used Tiffany on all of our trips and had excellent service. They require the pickup to be 2 hrs before your flight time. I feel FL Tours and Cartier are very reputable. Don't stress over an occassional negative report you read here..unfortunately mistakes happen in every company but overall Tiffany and FL tours seems the best..JMO

thanks DisFam95, called travel agent today and was able to send back the Mears transfers and upgrade to towncar, don't know the company yet but the trip was booked through AAA who went through WD travel.

Thank you thank you thank you, enjoy 1st trip with your baby.

You just asked my question! DD and I will be at POR 1//3-1/8 and I was debating mears vs. towncar. This was we could, at least stop for some bottled water and snacks. Great post-have a wonderful time. Disney calls the romantics as well as a mom/daughter getaway! I'm going with Tiffany, based on the boards.

We did that. We have used Mears, rented a car and now use a towncar for the first time.

Mears is fine and economical transportation, but you still have to stand in line to buy your ticket at the airport. A travel agent got you vouchers? Still have to stand in the same line with everyone else to exchange them... No special cut off for you!

And then, depending on where you are going, you pretty much have to wait for a shuttle to fill up before they take you to your hotel, possibly including several stops in between.

Renting a car was fine, just this time I do not feel like driving.

So the idea of, for a mere few more bucks, being picked up a the baggage claim station and driven directly to the resort without further delays is very appealing!

Save yourself a headache. Don't use Mears!!!!!
Use a towncar to start your vacation on the right foot.

I've used both Mears and Tiffany Towncar - no more Mears for me! I waited almost an hour one time to leave for WDW from the airport. I had to pay just a little more - it's only two of us.
