I put all my faith and trust in my travel agent to book our first family visit to DLRP, we fly out next week March 6th. But I have just found out that the French have their Public Holidays the whole duration we are there! Will this spoil our first visit? I was very annoyed with the travel agent for not mentioning this, but they said it was up to me to find this out (which was the last thing on my mind during booking!) My travel agents 'Going Places' have ****-up a few things with our booking and I am no longer looking forward to the visit. Did anyone visit during this period last year? Help!

Hi sweetheartlmg
It's not the whole of France on holiday then just the one zone, which is good news. It's also not the Paris Ile-de-France region which I would have thought is even better news.
We were there from the 11th March last year and around the 6th March in 2004, the parks were fine both times. That is when the kids go free, extra night free offer is isn't it - so the park must as a rule have low attendance, which they make up for with the offers, nevertheless you're arriving midweek, which is the quietest time although you can expect it to get busier at the weekend.
Unless anyone on here says any different I'd stop worrying.:goodvibes

Thanks Jill, I'm worrying over nothing, sitting here at work with nothing but DLRP on my mind. Just a week to go and my girls have no idea, can't wait to see their faces when they find out!

I have gained so much advice from this site, and wish to thank everyone, especially Em, who has answered all my e-mails and made my planning much easier and stress free.

Will let you all know about my visit on my return.

Thanks all :yay:

You fly out on the 7th! by any chance do you have young children? We are staying at Santa Fe, my two girls are age 4 & 6 years.

I'm sure it will be fine. If you aim to be at the park for opening you'll have a big jump ahead should their be crowds. Hope you both have a great time and come back and tell us all about it :)

Phew that made me panic then coz were also going the same week flying out of Manchester on the 5th till the 9th...

Im sure we'll all have a great time and if you see a little baby girl in a pink pushchair and an oriental mum dont hesitate to say hi, would love to meet anybody from the forum.

Will be on the look out ;)

Be on the look out for a big lanky fella in a tangerine shirt ( Blackpool fc shirt), prolly trying to run from a little girl saying can i have ? :rolleyes1

something similar happened to us when we were going to port aventura(spain )for the day , the day before we traveled we were told by the hotel that it was a local bank holiday , we were also abit worried but we still enjoyed our trip we got there for opening and only missed a couple of rides due to long quees but we made up for it on other rides , we will be at disney the 16 th and 17 th march so will just miss you hope to read your report when you get back , have a great time .

I'm orientl looking too! My mum's Japanese, but you'd never guess as i wear a hijaab! Most people say i look turkish! lol.
I'm sure your holidays will be great, have fun, i look forward to reading some great trip reports, and maybe you'll een be able to say you saw eachother while there!

Hi
We have just returned from Explorers Hotel last friday 23 Feb, I thought the park was very busy compared to November 2004 when we last visited. The hotel receptionist said many european countries had holidays last week. We soon got the hang of getting fast passes early in the morning and went on all the rides we wanted to.

My son's classmate was also there and he was really pleased when we saw her sat next to Space Mountain. All those people and it was still possible to bump into someone we knew!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
