I made a 8pm PS at Rose and Crown Sat 8 Feb. Illuminations are at 9pm. If we are lucky enough to get a patio table will this mean we have to stretch the meal until 9pm to take advantage of the view. Will this be an easy feat or will we have to really take our time? Any tips on getting a patio table welcome. TY

We did this a few years back, and it worked wonderfully! Things were running a bit late, so food came out right when Illum started. We were going to do the same for this trip, but I'm a bit worried about Feb. weather at 9:00 p.m., so we are doing Cal Grill and hoping to catch the MK fireworks.

Oh tips? Tell them you are a smoker and want to sit outside.

We had "front row" seats at R&C our past 2 visits and our PS times were 7:40 and 7:20. Both times we arrived at the podium at around 7:10 or 7:15. By 8:00 all the tables along the rail were taken, so you better check-in early. 7:00 should be OK (the service can sometimes be a bit slow so don't be surprised if you're still eating dessert or waiting for your check after 9:00).

IMHO I think that an 8:00 PS might be too late. Our strategy, learned on this board, is to request a 7:30 PS, arrive 15 minutes early and very politely request outdoor seating (we indicate we would be very happy to wait for an outdoor table). When we have done this we have been lucky enough to get our request granted, but sometimes have up to a half hour wait. We usually order an appetizer, meal, and dessert and end up finishing our dessert while watching Illuminations. We like to provide an increased tip to our server, for holding up the table for such a long period of time. I have noticed that most people who are seated by 7:30, or so, are going to sit it out through Illuminations, and these tables are limited in number, so I think trying for one about an hour and a half before Illuminations is a good strategy.
