Just thought I would say have fun and a safe trip. Post pics of the trip when you can.

Same here, RvUsa. Blow the horn when you pass I-40 while cruising down I-95.

By the way, the highs in NC are supposed to be in the 50s and 60s for the next 3 or 4 days. So if you can get out of that northern stuff, it should be smooth sailing from there on.

Don't forget Colson's Crossing and the Trail's End pics.:thumbsup2

Thanks guys!! I spent the day plowing everyones driveway, and chipping ice, bring on the warm weather!!!

I have the digital camera, and the aircard for the laptop, you guys can't get rid of me that easy. :rotfl2:

you guys can't get rid of me that easy.

John----- Who says we want to get rid of you????? Not me!!

Post your site & maybe we'll bring our bikes over & try to catch up with a fellow "Dis'er"!

Be careful on the drive down & keep an eye out for the other idiots on the road.

Hopefully - I catch up with you while you're here!

Deb

Cool, I will post pics and site number when we get there on monday. Look for the mountaineer with the mickey on the front, 2 mickey lamp posts, a bunch of other mickey lights and a rented golf cart.

By the way, we are completely packed, all I have to do is hitch up in the am and we are down the road. As long as I can get out of the driveway with all the snow.

Talk to everyone soon.

John

Hey John, hope you had/are having a safe trip down. Can't wait to see some pix from the trip. Looks like the weather should be fairly clear :cool2: until you get to northern Florida.

We're going to have to plan a spring trip sometime, the snow and lack of sunshine up here is getting to be too much. I still remember those road trips as a kid, taking a few days to go south and slowly getting into warmer and sunnier weather.

Well, time to go clear the 8 inches of snow off the driveway and walkways again, maybe clear a path to the TT and see if any mice got in to give me a challenge this spring! :lmao:

And awaaaaaaaaay he goes.............You probably wont see this til Monday, and if you see it, I know ya made it there ok. Have a great time, bud....and get that damn scooter!!!!!

Well its Sat night and we are about 1/2 between columbia and charleston on I26. The air card is working great!

I paid 3.89 a gallon for diesel in wv :scared1: and did I mention I HATE MY TRUCK!!!!! It is getting 8 mpg.

We left at about 8 am to another 2 inches of snow, the camper looked like a giant snowball going down the road, and it didn't clear up till about morgantown wv. When we left it was 17 when we pulled in here it was 67, much better.

The giant musket mickey sticker on the back is making a lot of people smile as they go by.

I think tomorrow, we are stopping at flagler beach in fl, so we can be at the fort early on monday.

I will keep everyone up to date as we go, talk to "yins" later

John

RV don't despair about your fuel MPG . I've heard when your truck gets broke in good , in a year or two the MPG will get better . :) :) I'll bet you might get up to 10 MPG . :goofy: But for now have FUN AT THE FORT !:grouphug:

My neighbor has a 08 f-250 he also gets 8 mpg pulling his 5er. Good to hear from you Rv.

Well, if it's any consolation on the truck, many of us would love to have the diesel and the option to pull our trailers through that pass to get to I26! I know what you mean about hating the 8mpg. We get around 9.5 to 10 mpg towing but would have to downshift to get up that pass with our half ton gas rig.

While it's still fresh in your mind from the trip down, do you think the drivers on I81 seem a little less "crazy" than on I95? We've made the trip a few times going both ways, and I seemed to think that I81 had less people weaving in and out, passing on the right, pulling on from an on-ramp while applying make-up or talking on the phone.

Not to put anyone down, but it made it hard for me to steer with my knee while watching the DVD and getting a cold one out of the cooler!:rotfl2: (tongue in cheek here)

Stop that right now! You're on your way to the Fort, remember? Have a blast and just keep swiping that credit card at the pumps.:lmao:

I had a fellow firefighter come up to me yesterday and was asking how my fuel mileage was on my 6.0. Althought I can squeak out 17mpg on the interstate, we also only get 8-9 when pulling the TT. Anyway, I got to telling him how I had spoken with you and how upset you were with the mpg on your 6.4. You see, this friend just bought a new GMC with the Duramax several months ago. As I was telling him about how the Duramax has always been better than our Power Strokes on fuel economy, he interrupted me saying he had just turned in his GMC and bought a new Ford! He just didn't like the GMC and of course, loved the "look and feel" of the Ford so he went ahead and traded trucks. But he sure ain't happy about that fuel mileage.

By the way, I'd be more upset about that $3.89/gallon than my fuel economy. Good grief, that's a lot.

Will we have regular reports? How fast is the air card just out of curiosity?

Hi guys, its sunday night and we are in Port orange, (south daytona). We got in about 3 today, we are at the koa, its not bad, nothing special. We unhooked and went to the beach to dip the tootsies in the surf for a couple of minutes, then went down to ponce inlet to the lighthouse. My wife is a light house freak, and we hadn't been to this one yet. My friend called tonight he is on the other side of the state about as far away as we are, we should both get there about 11 tomorrow. We were talking this morning, we should have just made a ressie at the fort for today, and been a day earlier, but we weren't sure how far we were going to get with the weather etc. so we will be there tomorrow.

Dan, we come from the other side of PA, so we dont have to hit I81, but there are plenty of morons around jacsonville and I95, YIKES, we were doing 75 and a guy went by in a pickup at at least 100. A guy on a import bike went between me and a car (in side by side lanes) at at least 140!!! I didn't even see him coming, scared the crap out of me.

Fuel was a lot better today, only $3.55 A gallon, and the truck is up to 9mpg down here on the flats.

The air card is about 3/4 as fast as dsl, except with pics, it's kinda slower.

Well gonna go check the other threads, and then get ready for bed, talk to "yins" later.
