A little background. This will be our 5th disney trip since October 2005. We have lucked out with crowds and weather every single time. We truly feel lucky about that!! Last yr we went the first week of June. We went with another family. My uncle and his family. This was the second time we have been to Disney with them. They are very easy to travel with. They are a lot like us. We like times together and we like times apart. We would meet up for some meals and other times not see them for 2 days. We all liked it. So we want to go again next yr ~ 2011. Well let me put that different. Both families are going next year. But we would really like to go together. Here is our issue.

My family ~ I have a toddler, 7yr old and 10 yrs old. In our state (MA) and in our school system the MCAS test are given in April and May. Kids can NOT be absent for that. So for our family we can not go in April, May (MCAS) ~ June, July, August and the first half of september ~J,J and A are just to hot and my kids and husband are under the impression that they will melt. J/K. But one of my sons has asthma and the heat and heavy humidity is not a good match. Last yr when we went the first week of June it was beautiful out but the humidity was REALLY starting to kick in half way through our trip. December, January and February. DH has never been willing to travel during the heavy winter months here b/c of the potential of a huge snow storm that would make it so we could not go. So all in all January, February, April, May, June, July, August, First half of September, December are OUT!

Sooooo that leaves March, Second half of September, October and November.

Her family ~ she is my uncles wife but is a very good friend of mine....We will call them the K family. For all of their reasons ~heat and humidity in the summer months, etc.. they have a son that will be in his Freshman/Sophmore yr of college ~ depending when we go and a 9yr old. So their son that is in college would really like to join us so the only time they can really go is March when he is on spring break.

I am not really feeling March. For a few reasons. It is right in the middle of a school yr. when the work is really picking up and this is when they start their MCAS preparations. PLUS...I feel that since a LOT of colleges take spring break in March the flights are more $$$$. So if we can not go with them when would you go? Considering crowds, weather, etc...

1.~One of the last 2 weeks in September
2.~End of October
3.~First half of November

Sorry this is so long. Thank you for your opinion!!

September, September, September!!!!!!!! I would go late Sep every single trip if I could!

Is for first part of Nov. great temps and low crowds = great trip. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Since we are big January fans, I'd vote for November as well.

I must admit, I got a bit confused with your post, though. What's with all the ~?

My vote would also be for the end of September, that is one of my favorite times of year there. The temps should be great, still warm enough to swim and no crowds. The only issue I have with October is that the Food and Wine Festival is going on at EPCOT which draws in all the drunks. I've had bad experiences there the two times I've gone in October with last years experience being the worst.
If EPCOT did a better job with having security around the park during the Food and Wine and kicking out people who were well beyond their "cups" then I would say go in October, but somehow I don't see that happening until something really bad happens.
Also by going the end of September, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party will be up and running and if you've not been to that before, it's so much fun. Just think you get to go trick or treating at the Magic Kingdom!!! So awesome, i'm not sure who had more fun, my kids or I!!!
As for March, plane tickets will most certainly be higher due to spring break.
I'm also in MA and to avoid my daughter missing school this year (granted she'll only be in 1st grade) I am taking my kids for two weeks and we will be there Aug 24-Sept 7th so we will be returning the day before school starts. I'm a bit afraid of the temps as I've been a few times during the end of Aug and it can definitely be sweltering, but i'm just going to go prepared with squirt bottles for the kids and since we are there 2 weeks we will try to take it easy to avoid heat exhaustion.
Good luck with whatever choice you make!
