I am considering trying out Ridemax for our upcoming June trip. I just noticed that it says that they do not have statistics for Sundays and that we should use the previous Saturday's stats. Have any of you tried it this way? And has it worked for you? Sunday is our one FULL day. We arrive Fri. afternoon, get kicked out of DL early on Sat. because of the POTC premier pirate: , then we have Sunday.

Thanks!

I've never heard of Ridemax before - can't wait to read about it. We'll be there in 4 weeks!

Ooooo.....I think that'll be one tricky Sunday for them to be estimating on!

I had the same trouble for our trip after Thanksgiving this last year. Should I look to Saturday or Monday for Sunday stats? Ended up plugging both in and I'm not sure how accurate either really was.

IMO, that is the biggest downfall of Ridemax. I personally don't think you can compare Sundays to Saturdays with all that much accuracy.

I agree. Sort of. IMO a Saturday itinerary would be conservative for Sunday. By which I mean if you followed a Saturday itinerary on a Sunday you would be able to do it with time to spare. Why? Because Sunday does not have Early Entry.

It is software that you can download that helps you plan what ride to go on when - you put in a list of the rides you want to do on a specific day, and it runs an algorithim (I think - I do business math, not that kind of math :) ) and gives you the order that will have the least waiting/walking time. It is at www.ridemax.com.

We used ridemax for all but our first day on our trip last month. We found that we were able to do more rides than our ridemax schedule and that the times listed for wait was often longer than we had to actually wait. That said, we did use it on Sunday with the Saturday schedule and had no issues with it. The Sunday at POTC premiere does seem like a trickey weekend though.

RideMax works best on really busy days. I used it during Thanksgiving week and it was right on and really helped.

I initially bought the ridemax subscription for our trip last Oct. Since we were a large group (13), I didn't really think about using it. I just wanted to know how the program worked. We had enhanced FP then so it wasn't an issue. For our trip in Mar/Apr it was just the 4 of us. I knew it was going to be busy as the park was open 9-11 on the weekdays and 8-12 on weekends. I completely forgot about ridemax though. Our first day on that trip we managed to only do 3 rides in the first 3 hours. It was so frustrating after having enhanced FP on our last trip. As soon as we got back to the hotel room, I booted up ridemax on our lappy and plugged in our info. We used our ridemax schedule for day 2 and was very thankful for it. With ridemax we were able to do more rides with less wait times. My dh didn't like the idea of having a schedule at disneyland, but he too was a convert. There were a few days that we altered our ridemax schedule (too cold to ride GRR, kids didn't fell like BTM). We didn't feel like we had to stick to the schedule. We ended up using it for each day of our stay from that point on. Our next trip is scheduled for the the 3rd week in Aug. Needless to say, we'll be using it again for that trip.

I have not tried using Ridemax on a Sunday. I have been using it to plan our trip at the end of June. My concern is that it always shows a relatively short wait for POTC for that week, which seems odd to me since that will be the week it opens back up. I would think that the lines would be long if you don't get to it pretty early in the morning. I am also suspicious that it always shows a 2 hour wait for Splash Mountain even right up until midnight closing.

Last summer we rode Space Mtn with FP on the last ride of the night at about 11:45PM. FWIW, both times the standby waits were posted as 100-120 minutes right before midnight.

POTC is the highest capacity ride at DLR. I think it can handle 3400 people per hour. I agree that the lines should be longer than normal during late June and probably all summer, but even last summer the lines never got over 40 minutes at mid-day. It would not surprise me if the line waits grew 25% this summer.

Out of curiousity, I just ran a RideMax scenario for June 26, two days after it re-opens, and it showed mid-day waits of 60 minutes. This seems reasonable to me.
