Have a ressie at vgc...room request help!

I have a two bedroom reserved for next month. Never stayed on the villas side with my points. Only the hotel side.
How do I know if I have a dedicated or a lock off? Is one better or preferred?
Naturally I'd love a view of woc, which are the rooms to request?
When can I put a request in?

You should know which you have based on the reservation you made. While the same # of points for each, they are separate booking categories. Which did you book?

You can either request a WOC view, or park view, or you can request specific rooms by number. In order to request a specific room or rooms, you'd sort of need to know what you booked as I mentioned above.

At VGC, my experience is, and this has been reported by many others as well, they do room assignments based on availability and then by earliest request first. So if a room is opening up the night you are arriving, but three people all have it requested, chances are the one who put in their request first will get it.

I make my requests by calling MS. Others send them an email. But you should do it as early as possible to increase your odds of getting what you want.

Is there really a huge diff between a lock off and a dedicated?

That is a dedicated. A lockoff would say lockoff. A dedicated will have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom vs 1 queen & 1 double sofabed in a lockoff. A dedicated will only have 1 entrance vs 2 in a lockoff. A lockoff has a kitchenette in the 2nd bedroom, a dedicated does not.

I should add - those are all dedicated 2 bedrooms. That side of the building is the only location with rooms with a WOC view.

Earliest reservation seems to be more important than earliest request.
Checking in early is also helpful

That is a good list, but I usually make a slightly longer list.
3rd floor villas (3522, 3506, 3500) will have a WOC view, but more obstructed by trees.
The most peaceful villas face Redwood Creek (x518), but no WOC view.

I didn't include 3rd floor because I saw a post recently that said they are now blocked by trees.
