Sorry I am a little bit confuse here. Regarding the Character dining. I read about the photo outside the restaurant. That could be included in the MM.

But will there be photos taken inside it with the characters by the photopass photographer? Or if any CM inside to help take photos? I am travelling by myself and is wondering whether I should do character breakfast one morning. Else if I booked and no one around to help. I will just have to ask Donald & friends to do selfie together....

And normally will the characters be around the whole morning? Or just selected time? There is not much choice left for doing a Character breakfast ADR for Aug now... so what I am getting is very late in the morning say 10:30 or 11:00.

They don't have PhotoPass photographers in the restaurants, and I don't think they have character attendants, either. (It's been a few years since I've done a character meal though, so I'm not 100% sure on that.)

Rather than a selfie, you could ask someone at the next table or they might even offer.

The characters are there for the entire morning.

Right, no photographers inside the restaurant. There are however, character handlers around. At least there was on our trip last year. They go around and make sure the character makes it to each table and help them get around when needed, especially those fur characters that can't see so well. From what I have observed they are more off to the side than right near by but would often be there to snap a photo if you asked. The waiter may well be able to assist too.

Depends on the restaurant, I think. Last year we had handlers at Crystal Palace, but I don't remember seeing any at Ohana. I know they have not had photo pass people in the restaurants as far as I can remember- just the handlers.

I would say that either a nearby table or one of the servers would surely take a few pictures for you. People are usually willing to help in situations like that.

Ok, I read the full post for the first time, rather than 2nd hand, and this makes no sense

3) Memory Maker and Photopass can still have photos OUTSIDE of character meals.
4) But, no more packages WITH the characters.

The photos that cost extra at meals where no long with characters. Donald at TH was the last one and he left that one quite a while ago. So exactly what is he saying is going away?

Quoting myself to update that Rusty clarified the above and photos taken before meals are not going away. The only thing going away is that there will be no one to bring a printed photo around to the table for you to buy. You can only get them on MM. So what you get on MM is 100% unchanged.

However, I did ask what about those who do not have MM. Are they out of luck or will there be something electronic brought around to the table for you to buy them or what? Or would you have to buy it before it's even taken?

We'll never get MM again since I don't care for ride photos. Most of the time I don't want the premeal photo either but I do like to see them just in case it's an exceptionally good shot of all of us. I'd hate to loose out on the opportunity to get the photos completely.

Question about memory maker and magic shots. I just got back home and when I looked up my photos all of the magic shots had no magic in them

One photographer had my husband hold up his hand like balloons where there and there is no balloons haha. So he is just holding onto air. We have one where we are pointing to the ground but nothing is there either.

What can I do now???? Help please!

TheRustyScupper is a CM (at least, I've always assumed he is), but it does seem hard to believe.

He is a CM and sounds right on with this one.

The simple explanation is:

PP photogs will take your pic before a meal as usual, but there will not be any printed photo packages offered for sale at the table. The photographer will just scan your MB or MM card after the photo is taken.

Hope this helps anyone who had questions.

I have a question. Pre-purchased MM but considering changing to PP archive disk (since we have 2.5yr old so not big rides and character meals are outside of restaurant w/no character). Does PP work with magic bands too or do we need to carry around a card? Also, when you get home, if purchasing PP disk, do you create fun borders then order the CD? How does that part work? I want to make sure we would still be able to make some of the fun pictures!

We bought MM and had a funny thing happen. It was three rooms - my family and two of my sister-in-laws. I was linked with the two sisters, my family was linked to me and their families linked to them. It appears that when they scanned the adults or my children's bands (ages 15 & 19) all the pictures showed up fine. But when they scanned my sister-in-law's young daughters' bands, they only showed up under her MDE and not my account (with the MM). A call fixed it all, but it was confusing!

You were linked to your sister in law but not her daughter. She has to give permission to view any of her managed guest's photos.

You don't need memory maker to use a magic band. It's just a PhotoPass card you wear on your wrist.

You are partially right. I was linked to my sisters in law, but not their kids, because you can't link to a minor who isn't yours! Similarly, I was not linked to their husbands, but because they did indeed give me permission, I could see all the husbands' photos fine. I should gave been able to see the kids but could not.

Yes, all photos in Photopass include the fun borders. When you get home you get on the Photopass site and enter your info and (with regular Photopass cards, not sure about MM) enter the code from the card. All your photos will appear and you can through and add borders, etc. Save the photos (so you get both the plain and the decorated photo) and then order the CD

Yeah, if you don't have MM you'd have to enter the code on the card to pull up the photos to your account. When you have photos taken you'd give them the card vs. your band. At least I've not heard of a way to load a regular card on to the MB. That would be great if you could go in and link them so you could scan your band vs. keeping up with a card. When we used KTTW cards it was easy just to always have them together. I'd love to get my PP card and go online and link the code to it and then use the band for the rest of the trip. If that ability is there I have sure not seen it referred to.

I will say that if you think you'd buy 1 ride photo and 1 pre-meal photo you'd have spent the difference between PP Archive Disk and MM.

Wow, I missed that in all this somehow. That is great news. I am not purchasing MM. So all I need to do for our trip is give our MB to the Photographers and when I get home and log in to the Photopass site all my pics will be there? Want to make sure I don't have to link in something or do anything but use my MB. I'd be sick to get home and discover there are no pics anywhere.

That would be great! Then if I decide on the disk instead of MM I wouldn't have to carry around a card (or end up with a bunch of them)!!
