No, you installed winrar, a shareware program. Winrar is provided for free but begs you to send them money. You need to unzip the files which is built into modern operating systems. Or you can use winrar. Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Yep. You just right click on it and select "extract."

Thank you so much for posting all the info on here. We just back from WDW on Wed. I got a bunch of magic shots that I wouldn't of known about if it wasn't for you. I loved them all. I also made sure I thanked every photographer we saw. I hope you were one of them.

So we have done two magic shots already (balloons at Epcot and Olaf at HS) and when I log on to my Photopass account to look at them, the pictures are there but the "magic" part of it (balloons and Olaf) are not there. Does it take a certain amount of time for the finished photos to show up or did something go wrong with both of them? I'm kind of disappointed because Olaf was the one magic shot I really wanted. What should we do?

Sometimes it can take time, but most likely there was just a mistake. I explained it more a few posts ago because someone else had the same problem. Give guest support a call and they can help you.

There should be another magic shot or two coming out this summer but since I'm not around I'm not positive. I know that a new Lion King magic shot is at Animal Kingdom, as well as a Jiminy Cricket one that has been out for a month or two. I haven't seen any pictures of Jiminy one online yet so if anyone out there got one please share! It's not a hard to shoot, but you need the sky behind and above you which is a little hard at Animal Kingdom since there are so many trees in the way! It's funny because it came out around the same time as the Olaf magic but you can take a guess at which one is more popular. Olaf is also expanding to more parks so that is nice. If anyone has any new magic shots to add please make sure to share!

My question is about downloading at home. When I download the Memory Maker photos to my home computer I keep getting a msg from WinRAR telling me I have to delete the program after 40 days. Is there something I am doing wrong?

That message is from WinRAR and has nothing to do with Memory Maker or your photos. Even if you did opt to delete the program if you have extracted your photos to your computer they aren't going anywhere.

Is there anything that can be done if magic shots don't appear in your photopass account (it doesn't seem like tinkerbell wants to cooperate!)?

Yes, they can fix it. We had the wings missing from DGD's photos. One phone call to CS and they had them put right on. No problems. Same folks can often find photos missing from your account, if you have a general time and description of your clothing

Ok photograph person... We, as a group, had memory maker.... Returning home and downloading or saving our pictures... They are all blurry... I'd this a trick to get you to pay again for them?? I've heard before that the CM's and equipment they use are not familiar with it and no training was basically given... I didn't want to believe such but now, after paying 200.00 for memory maker and having all sped blurry pictures... I'll never pay again for any on property photograph program.

I would call up the guest service number and they can help you. We are all trained on the equipment although a new camera is being integrated in now (basically an upgraded version of the one we were using before). I'm sorry the photos look good but there is nothing I personally can do about it, although I have never looked through guests photos and have seen all of them blurry (maybe one or two for every 50).

Jiminy is at Animal Kingdom and Olaf (as far as I know) is at Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Typhoon Lagoon. Tink is the most popular since she is such an icon, plus it's easy to set up.

If you take any photo and really zoom it all the way in on Photoshop or any similar program eventually you will start to see the pixels and things do get fuzzy. You can do this on your photos or on Disney photos. It's just a thing that happens. Sometimes when I am helping a guest they would want a photo zoomed in and things do get a little fuzzy. However, I have no idea how every single photo is blurry while just looking at them. Even if something expired on the website the photos would just disappear. As far as I know Disney never purposely distorts photos.

No there's no way. I mean the web site shows lower quality images but my first suggestion would be to check with your optometrist and get your eyes checked.

If you have memory maker but no magic bands you'd have to visit the ride counter to add your photos.

I've read in a few posts that MM photos cannot be viewed on an iPad - only on a laptop or PC. But in March, I used my iPad to look at my photos every night when we got back to our room. I was planning on doing the same in October. Is this a new thing? Anyone else have this experience?

I read this entire thread, and now it's time for me to comment.

I love Photopass, and I bought a package that gives me the Memory Maker for free. In the past, I have always bought the CD in the park, and carried it home with me on the plane. I do understand that the Memory Maker is Digital.

I am traveling alone in 58 days, and I am very excited to use Photopass and get as many pictures onto my Free Memory Maker. It doesn't get any better than this.

I wonder if Disneyland will ever get Memory Maker. I just returned from there, and five days in the parks, and I came home with 219 pictures on my CD. I have never been into adding borders, and other things.

Great thread. I will keep reading, all the way up to, and including my vacation. I travel with my iPad, so it would be great if I could view my pics each night. I guess I'll wait and see.

No, you don't need to mention it to photographers in the park (it makes no difference and can get a little annoying when everyone mentions it). Do mention it as you are getting your photos taken at a restaurant like Chef Mickey's and Hoop De Doo since they need to make sure to link it to your band/card. They usually don't link photos to any card or band since they sell physical print packages so if you don't mention it you may not get the digital copy.

It's been a "new" thing since last October so if you were able to do it in March you should be good. I have heard of the photos occasionally showing up on the iPads but I normally don't mention it because for some reason it doesn't happen all the time. It has something to do with Flash software. I'm not a computer expert but I'm glad it worked for you! I do know that it doesn't work on the app since the app isn't built for photos, so I assume you are using Safari.
