Do you have a Goody's in your town? They have a great junior selection with "bigger" sizes. They sell Mudd and LEI and Levi's. Old Navy has a good selection also. JC Penney is okay but I can understand her reluctance to go into the "old lady" store. I would say Lane Bryant but I think all the other sizes might upset her but they do have great selection of petite clothes. Good luck and have fun. You are a great aunt!

no advice on stores......but when you do go shopping, if she finds she isn't fitting into things make sure she knows that clothes run differently in different stores. DD16 is a tall girl that wears a size 10 normally. The other day she tried on a pair of pants 10 regular and they were hanging off her. We cracked up because she already is tall so whoever made these jeans must consider a "regular" person to be over 6ft. She's also found that some places she can't even fit in a 12 and one place where the common size is 0 - she couldn't even fit into the 14's. She almost had a heart-attack!
