I posted this to the WL faqs page but I'm not getting any response. I'm not trying to be impatient but well, yes I guess I am. I'm so excited that .........well ya'll know how it feels. Anyway below is what I asked because I can't figure out how to link to the page.

Thanks

I would love to have some info on standard view rooms. Like the ones that everyone like, the room numbers, locations, etc.

We hope that we can upgrade to courtyard view when the rates come down and I have seen some rooms numbers for that.

Also we are getting AP rates and we have the vouchers for the APs. So do we have to have the AP "tickets" or can we check into the WL with the vouchers? I've read about other resorts but I need to know about WL.

Thanks again for ya'lls help!!!!!!

Can't help with the Standard View questions (but would like the answer as well!)

As to using the AP voucher to checkin - it shouldn't be any problem. We did this at AKL in August - they just need to make sure you have an AP. (Activated or not)

I'd also suggest adding your questions to the post in this thread. It is easier for people to answer if they don't have to track down the question ;)

I believe that 999 ghsts stated that her favorite standard view rooms are on the fourth floor above the check in desk. I hope that helps because I asked the same thing for our trip. Also we are requesting a lobby room.:D

First of all you willl love the lodge, it's our favorite...

We had room 4050, here is my opinion on our standard view. We were on the 4th floor directly above roaring forks. The view was sub-standard in my opinion. THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT, just an observation. We payed for standard and that is what we got, a view of the service road, large trash storage area, near constant delivery vehicles with there booop, booop, booop back-up noises. The balcony was enclosed (similar to what you may have heard of on the top floor) and overlooked a large green metal roof that sloped toward the service road below, the roof was not all that clean. On the plus side we had a pretty good view of the MK fireworks and the smoke house was right under our balcony if you are into that sort of thing, you can watch the chefs smoke all the meats that they serve in roaring forks and artist point. My DH thought that was neat.

This is not at all a bash on the WL, I understand that they need to utilize all of their space and that's what standard view means, all I'm saying is there might be better standard view rooms...maybe not though. The lodge is beautiful and I'd go back in a second.

Any other WL questions and I'd be happy to help, 400 days to go? I could hardly stand the wait, LOL :)

I had mentioned this a while back on the wl faq's, but if you will do a search just for 999ghsts postings you'll find anwers to almost any question you have about WL. It takes forever to dig through all the postings on that thread, but just searching the one user name is pretty quick. Here's what she had to say about her favorite rooms:

"My favorite rooms are:

Standard view over the front desk (they do look at the roof but you don't have the beeping of the trucks at night)

Woods view MK side overlooking the otter pond

Courtyard I don't really have a favorite, but If I had to pick it would be the South wing inner courtyard 4th floor "

Somewhere I have our room number written down and I will get it to you.... We were on the 4th floor overlooking the lobby on the side above Whispering Canyon and we were quite pleased... Looking out the window we saw nothing but trees and could see a little of the MK fireworks, outside our front door we had two rocking chairs overlooking the lobby.. This was our wedding/honeymoon room so we wrote the number down, but of course I can't find the thing at the moment..

I don't think these are categorized as standard view rooms, but you might try to request a room overlooking the Wilderness Vacation Club. Those rooms seemed really nice and quiet and you would be looking at the vacation club, pool, walkway, and trees. I don't think they are in huge demand because I think at least the rooms overlooking the pool at the villas is considered courtyard (yeah, right), and if they try to put people in those rooms at a courtyard price, they probably don't like it because they are expecting to be in the MAIN courtyard.

We stayed there in May in a courtyard view room (standard was sold out). We didn't think it was worth the extra money.

That's my 2 cents!
