I rode this when I was little, but have not gone on it the past few times we have been. Is the octagonal room an elevator? I am not sure if I want to ride this one. Not sure if it will be me motion sick. What ride is it like?? Are there any drops or anything like that?

No drops or spins, and unless you are extremely sensitive to every little movement, you won't have motion sickness in the pre-show.

At WDW it is not an elevator. The floor does not move a bit.

Disneyland's is a different story (so to speak :goodvibes ) but even there it is VERY SLOW in its motion.

No Drops on HM.
All the "Doombuggies" are connected to one long "chain-loop" and so EACH of them can only move at the same slow continuous pace as all the others.

You should have no problems riding HM. Even a person prone to Motion Sickness should not experience any on this ride. It's a very slow moving ride with zero drops.
