Oh I hate when that happens! To me, they are very much the same, but oh so different! (I know alot of help, huh) The story is pretty much the same, many scenes are the same. Sequences seem a bit different. More levels at WDW compaired to DL. Not sure if it's because I greww up with DL, but I prefer it.
Over all, you aren't missing that much as far as it being so different. Have fun!:goodvibes

I wouldn't feel terrible. Have you been on the MK version since it's update? DL version didn't get that. Other than those new things in MK the rides are very similar. The outer building is different though.

The DL theme is New Orleans (it's in New Orleans square). It's more that style on the outside as opposed to the brick one at WDW. The cemetary scenes in the lines are similar. The tombs might be different, but that's no big deal. The one major difference I can remember is that after the elevator in DL, you exit and walk down the corridor with the 4 art pictures that change. You then veer to the left and on your left hand side is the 2 heads that turn and look/follow you. I think that part is on the ride in WDW. Then you get on the ride and start with the mirror corridor with the floating candlestick. You then go into the hallway with the wallpaper, moving tomb and knocking doors. I think in WDW they have a library scene that has the heads and some other things right? After that, I think it is pretty much the same. Hope that helps!

thanks all! it sounds like we won't miss much. at least we can take
pix of the outside!:thumbsup2 and i'm sure we'll find plenty more
to do!:rotfl:...my DH says i'm finally going to the motherland:love:

The one at DL is an actual elevator that goes down into the ride. From there you walk into hallways to get to the actual ride. As another said, Walt built it on haunted houses he saw in New Orleans so that's why the outside looks different than WDW.

Wow, an actual elevator? Sweet. We're going to be there during the makeover; can't wait. This is our first time visiting DL, and we've always wanted to see the Nightmare version of the ride.

A small difference, but the pet cemetary is in que line for the DL version, opposed to by the exit for the WDW version. Also, there is no Master Gracey tombstone at the DL version (I think).

As others have said, there is no library scene or footprints on staircase scene in DL. The 'tracking' busts are in the line after getting out of the elevator, as are the paintings that 'change' with the lightening effect.

Overall, the two rides have similiar elements and both are a lot of fun.
