Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the (carousel-sounding or almost music-box-sounding) music you can hear when you walk by the Haunted Mansion this time of year? It sounds like a real slow version of "Yo Ho! A Pirate's Life for Me."

I bought the complete walk-through CD last year, but this music is not on it. Any advice? :confused3

Hi, do you mean when you walk by the Mansion outside? Do you think it's part of the Holiday Mansion or regular Mansion?

If it sounds like the Pirates song, do you think it is the pirates song but instrumental only with no singing? What I'm referring to can be heard while you are in the Pirates dock area while waiting in line to board a boat.

If you think that's it I can provide a copy for you, though I think what I have is on the ride soundtrack.

I've only been on this ride twice so when I go back I will try to pay more attention to the music.

This song is called Ghostly Music Box, which is on the new Haunted Mansion CD released earlier this year at Disneyland (on 09/09/09). The description of Ghostly Music Box from the CD is spot on:
A hauntingly elegant version of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" played from an authentic Porter Baroque music box.

The history behind this album was discussed by Randy Thornton at the D23 Expo, in his session "Haunted Mansion: Sounds of Spooks and Music of the Macabre" (my favorite "behind the scenes" session at the Expo!). Randy mentioned this (Ghostly Music Box) is the song that is played in the FastPass area of the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland. Based on what I remember from the session, most (if not all) of the songs on the CD were re-mixed/recreated for this CD.

This is a park-exclusive CD - I bought mine at the World of Disney store in Anaheim at DTD in September. If you can't find it there, you might want to try the Disneyland DelivEARS number at 800-362-4533.

Here are the details of the CD:

Title: The Haunted Mansion

Cover: Black & white photo of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, in a gold frame with an olive-green mat, hanging on a wall with purple wallpaper (the wallpaper has the "eye" design just like the attraction)

Year: 2009

Price: $18.98

ID number from my receipt (I think this is the SKU): 050087147235

Songs:

1. The Haunted Mansion (13:58 - The attraction soundtrack as it appears in its current...incarnation.)

2. Ghostly Music Box (2:07 - A hauntingly elegant version of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" played from an authentic Porter Baroque music box.)

3. Otherworldly Concerto (9:58 - During the recording sessions for the Haunted Mansion's famous pipe organ, Buddy Baker worked with organist Gaylord Carter in choosing just the right organ stops (or voices) for the perfect arrangement. Many variations of the famous theme were performed and those original experiments have been assembled here as one...otherworldly concerto.)

4. A Swinging Wake (1:02 - The unearthly score from the rollicking graveyard scene.)

5. The Graveyard Band (1:01 - The philharmonic phantoms perform their own version of "Grim Grinning Ghosts.")

6. 999 Happy Haunts (7:39 - The graveyard inhabitants come out of their creepy old crypts for a rousing reprise of their favorite song.)

7. Phantom Manor Suite (12:59 - Renowned composer John Debney's sweeping orchestral interpretations of Buddy Baker and X. Atencio's classic score.)
