Thanks! I'm going to WDW next month and i'm doing the Haunted Carriage ride where you get chased by the headless horseman so i'll definately video tape it

Seewhatimesdone, When did you take all of these pictures? Was it last year? I notice rain in one of your Candy Corn Acres photos, and it rained (poured) on the days I was there last year, which was the very first weekend they put up the Halloween decorations. Was that when you were there too?

My headache is coming back! I just cannot stand the nbc theming against the HM, it just so does not belong there! Anyway, I had seen a number of pictures before that you had posted, and some are new to me, I like a few of the design elements, however, overall, NOT! I cannot wait until it no longer exists there! must go and get a motrin, now.

Yep. If I recall, I THINK it was the only weekend it rained while the Halloween stuff was up. It was actually like right around September 21 or 22 - it was a week earlier than when the decorations are going up this year. And it POURED rain overnight Friday to Saturday, and then off and on throughout Saturday. By Sunday, it had cleared up mostly. So I guess we were there on the same day! It was messy with all that rain.

Oh and by the way, your pictures are great, and they make me anxious to hurry and get to DLR in two weeks!

Haha yeah I still have fun regardless if it rains and it cleared everyone out! That was an added bonus. I didn't know that they were putting the decorations up later this year, it's a good thing I didn't go up there then just yet.

Well we're trying to decide whether or not to go on Oct. 4th or Oct. 11th. I know that the crowds are smaller in October but I heard that gay day may make larger crowds on the fourth. I don't know which weekend to go!

And the weekend of the 11th is a holiday weekend (Columbus Day), so that will attract a lot of crowds. If it tells you anything, when I was making my hotel reservations, I couldn't get a room where I wanted on the weekend of the 10th-12th. The rooms were all booked up at the rate I wanted for that weekend, and they were still booked every time I checked. All I could get was the weekend of the 2nd - 5th, so I think you MAY have your answer as to what may be less crowded, Gay Days or not!

I also heard that some people who were orginally scheduled to go on my weekend ended up rescheduling to another weekend when they discovered that the Miley Cyrus birthday party was taking place on the 5th and that DL would be closing early that day. I don't know - I tend to think that because the economy is so bad now and gas prices are high, the crowds that may have existed for Gay Days last year will be smaller this year and probably throughout the rest of 2008. I always go and expect crowds (unless it is raining), and usually it is manageable unless it is that horrible week between Christmas and New Year's when ti gets scary!

(That is, unless you spot anyone with a lime green Mickey hanging or stuck on them anywhere - that is a telltale sign of a DIS-er!)

Miley's B-day is SoLd OuT. A friend of mine will be working it, he said its gonna be a mad house. Wow, that didn't take long to sell every ticket. It's gonna be bonkers that day. I'll be at the parks tomorrow (thurs.sept18), any chance any of you will be there?

I think I read on this board that DLR was saying that people who originally had their hotels booked for the weekend I will be there - when Miley's birthday is - changed their reservations to other weekends because they did not want to get caught in any Miley-related crowds in the parks before her b-day. In other words, her party is on the 5th, but there may be 'guests' of that party in the park on the 3rd and 4th, so many people changed their dates to other weekends to escape that frenzy. I will still be there from the 2nd - 5th, but we are leaving fairly early on the 5th and not going into the parks that day, so hopefully we will escape the growing crowds!! It sounds like it WILL be a madhouse, as you said, Figment!
