I want to make a pumpkin diorama for a friend. I will cut it open, paint it blue inside...dark navy fading up a bit then dry brushing in some clouds. I want to poke rice lights in thru the back and paint stars around them. For the HM itself, I will print photos on cardstock then embed them in some styrofoam...glue some spanish moss for grass and put in a hitch hiking ghost or the caretaker.

Any ideas, tips or comments? I've never done anything like this before and i'm a bit nervous.

I am so stealing this idea ;)

I have found with crafts that experimentation is best. I usually walk around craft stores or hardware stores. You never know what you might find that will work or inspire a great idea.

There are also Haunted Mansion tombstones on the disneystore online, and in the parks. I also found this site http://www.ehow.com/how_7611419_build-3d-scale-models.html on how to build 3d models, so you could try that.

i'd love to put the Leota stone in her diorama as that is her fave character but disneystore.com doesn't seem to have them anymore. And I don't think i'm busting up my set to put it in there....

pretty sure it will have to be...oh, wait...i can make one out of styrofoam! and paste a paper copy of the stone on it. Oooh...i love brainstorming.
