Haunted Mansion Holiday

hi! WDW local, but DL semi-novice. We have only seen HMH once, late October. Someone told us that it changes a little after Halloween, to go with a more Christmas slanted decor--is this true? Do they tweak it after 10/31? And if so, is there a downtime/rehab Time associated with it?
Making initial plans for a 2017 'Disneymoon'!

The Haunted Mansion makeover happens at the end of August-beginning of September for the year-end holidays, and goes back to normal in January.
