How are the crowds generally for Haunted mansion Holiday around the middle of november? Do they always offer fast passes? Any other information would be great! Thanks!

In general, the crowds won't be horrible in the middle of November (except perhaps on the marathon weekend, over Thanksgiving week, and when the Holiday season kicks off). I wouldn't expect a walk-on ride from Fri through Sun (I'd guess a wait of between 20 to 30 minutes). Weekday lines should be shorter.

They have not been offering FP for the last few years (at least not last year for sure).

Don't bother with it. It's awful. The original Mansion is amazing and Tim Burton is overrated.

What's awful and over rated to you may be amazing and enjoyable to others.

To answer the op, Last year and I believe the year before there was no fast passes, they used that area as a meet and greet for jack and Sally. I believe last year the longest we waited was thirty minutes.

I feel like this is a very personal statement.....I for one LOVE that movie and loved it as a kid, and now it will be the base for decorations for the HM, and I could not be more excited. So please come here with meaningful information not just....Its stupid because I don't like it so you wont either. :confused3

HMH can draw high crowds in mid November especially around Thanksgiving break. It won't be insane wait times in the hour plus like during Christmas time. I have seen it as high as 45 minutes in November but overall it should not be that bad.

Just as figment said that DL didn't offered the FP for HMH last year. Last year was the first time in a while that HMH didn't offer FP's. The other years they offered FP's.

That's totally personal to each person.

When I first experienced HMH it was after decades of not seeing the real HM. I hadn't ever seen NBC and it was really confusing and overwhelming because I didn't know what was added and what wasn't.

DS, however, loved it, which is far more than I can say for how he feels about normal HM. So it got some bonus points for that.

Later, we were at an electronics store and were looking at TVs, one of which was playing NBC. DS got to watch a bit of it while we talked TVs (or maybe blu ray players). He enjoyed what he saw. So I bought it for DH's birthday, and they have watched it countless times. I didn't like it until around the 20th viewing I was around for, when I started to appreciate some aspects of it (possible Stockholm Syndrome there, ha ha ha).

I still don't watch much of Burton's work, and just the preview of Frankenweenie nearly made me throw up when they had it at the Muppets theater 2 years ago. But NBC is decent, and I actually quite like the overlay. Sure because my son likes it, but also because the real HM is kind of, um, boring and cheesy. Also neat and fun and nostalgic, but I'm a complex person and manage to feel ALL those ways about that one ride, all at once.

I like the overlay, though I didn't used to understand it.

Wait times will prob be in the 30-45 minute range most of the day. About an hour during peak periods, and walk on before 10am and at the end of the night.

I'm confused- does Haunted Mansion get 2 different makeovers- one for Halloween and one for Christmas? Or is it a single makeover for the rest of the year?

DH loves nightmare before Christmas and we want to plan our next trip for when he can see that at HM. BTW we just got back last night and the world of disney store had a great selection of haunted mansion and nightmare before christmas stuff.

There is only one overlay: Haunted Mansion Holiday (HMH). Once the Haunted Mansion opens with the Nightmare Before Christmas (NBC) overlay in mid-September (9/12 this year), it will remain the same through the rest of the year. HMH usually runs until the Monday after New Year (so likely 1/5/15 or so).

Mid-January to late-August: Regular Haunted Mansion
Mid-September to early-January: Haunted Mansion Holiday (NBC overlay)

Great Information!! So... Does Jack and Sally meet and greet every year now??? If so how long is the wait usually to see them????? i know it'll vary, i know they had them at DTD at WDW and the wait time was about 3 hours!! i for one am excited to see the overlay... its different. To me its not like they are replacing the classic HM permanantly, its just a temporary new attraction each year... i've yet been able to experience it... i've watched the video and the soundtrack sounds awesome to me...whats everyones favorite part of the overlay??

The wait for Jack and Sally won't be 3 hours, but sometimes you could be waiting for 20 or 25 minutes or so. Maybe longer; maybe not as long. They're out during Halloween Time, at Mickey's Halloween Party and the holiday season, but sometimes only Jack is out without Sally.

In this post, look under New Orleans Square/Haunted Mansion Holiday for links to lots of good info (such as the "Disneyland Resort Fun Facts" from September of last year).

In this post you will find the start of our New Orleans Square/Haunted Mansion Holiday Theme Week, in the Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread last year. If you click on the thread link from that post (in the upper right), and access the thread from that point, scroll though the pages and you will see all of the photos submitted for the NOS/HMH Theme Week in 2013. We are in the middle of doing another Theme Week Countdown this year, but we have not gotten to the week that will cover Haunted Mansion Holiday just yet (though it is coming up, eventually;)).

ETA: There is an extra hidden Mickey that appears in HMH for the holiday season, which is not there during Halloween Time.

Many people cannot stand hmh. I am one of them. I don't have a problem with nbc, just hmh.
I cannot wait to see it visit WDW. Every other year in CA then Fl would be tolerable for me.

I prefer classic HM, but HMH, to me, is a fun change of pace so long as I get my fix of regular HM some other point in the year.

Regarding wait times, i've been each of the last two years the same weekend in November, the 14-18th depending on which year. In both cases the wait times for HMH were very manageable. Walk on at times (not just after 10pm or before 9am), with, as I recall, a maximum of about 20-25 minute wait during busier times. As I recall they were not offering fastpasses either time I was there but it's possible they were and I didn't bother because wait times were short.

I prefer regular HM to HHH but in my experience HHM has much longer lines. Regular HM lines are usually 25-30 minutes during peak hours. The line rarely stretches out of the courtyard. Last year, the HHM line wound through NOS almost the entire season. At the end of the night, both are pretty easy to get on.
