Haunted Mansion Holiday - Soft Opening

Hello,
We will be in Disneyland for only two days - September 1st and 2nd.
I know that this attraction is supposed to reopen on September 7th.
Is there such a thing as soft opening?
This is my favorite ride, and I always wanted to see the Halloween incarnation not though YouTube but with my own eyes.

I doubt it. They put it up for 4 months of the year, every year so they don't really need to soft open.

Nope. Unfortunately, there is zero chance of it being open on September 1 and 2.

As everyone else has said 0%. It is a scheduled seasonal event. It will open on the 7th and no sooner.

UGH - We just booked our trip two weeks ago and I SWEAR this was NOT on the closure list, because I wouldn't have bothered coming. So mad. Our first trip and really, it's just to see the HM for my 40th birthday. Too bad plane tickets are bought already - so irritated!

The closure list isn't really updated well in advanced. But HM and IASW tend to go down their respective weeks every year. Sorry it affects your plans, though!

As the pp said, HM isn't really listed as an official closure because it isn't a refurb, but only to put up the NBC overlay. SM isn't listed either because it's closed only to change the overlay to Ghost Galaxy. (SM will go down for a few days the first week of Sept.) The dates for both overlay installations have been discussed in the August trip planning thread and the Halloween Time 2018 Superthread. For those planning future trips: the overlay installations for these two rides happen every year around the same time to be ready for the opening of Halloween Time, so the prospective/exact dates get discussed around here at this time of year so that people can plan for it.
