Haunted Mansion Holiday Overlay...

So far, I avoid Dl. as well during the nbc phase of the HM. I really would like to see the fall decorations, especially as it pertains to Halloween, for I love Halloween, matter of fact, as soon as I am off line, I will continue to decorate for Halloween, that way, when it is Oct. 01, my work will be more or less done, and ready to be viewed.
I probably will at some point visit Dl. during the fall or winter, I will not go on the ride, unless I change my mind, and even if I decided to do so, I will never ever change my mind regarding my platform regarding the topic of this overlay being applied to the HM.
The reason that I might take a look at it, is so that way, people that tell me, you might like it, (ick, no) if you ride it, this way, I can say yes I visited the HMH, and my perspective has not changed. the thing is though, I do not need to ride this abomination, in order to know, that I do not approve of it! seeing ride throughs and photographs, is enough to give me the chills, and not the good kind either. Now, that is not to say that I do not like some of the design elements that are incorporated into the HMH, but then, they are not nbc specific, either, for example, snow in the cemetery, that idea I quite like, however, does it ever snow in Louisiana? I do not believe so, in which case, that should not been included in the cemetery scene, ever.
People that like this overlay, will never understand anything that I write, because they just do not get it, and it, is the original mansion, and keeping it preserved in its original or as close to it (recent changes in attic) as possible.

I like both sets of mansion decor - the original is best, but the Halloween overlay is astonishing design - very well thought out and executed.

I enjoy all the Halloween decor at the parks!

Have a wonderful month of scares, everyone!

A name like Peri and an avatar of K9? I'm guessing we have another fan of Brit sci-fi in the house...

As far as the subject is concerned, I like the HM both ways, and think that having NBC for the whole stretch from October to New Years is fitting. I agree with the post that it makes the HM lighter, although I don't think the normal HM is that dark. However, I also agree with Bumbershoot that at times the overlay can be overwhelming, especially in the graveyard (although for me then its the sound, not the visual, that I have trouble separating the various elements).

What I think I really love about the overlay is the AA characters of Jack and Oogie at the end. The way they move, the in-your-face mentality, well, I don't think they are surpassed where other AA characters are over the parks.

Hi Dave:

Make that three of us who are fans of Brit sci-fi (I was a member of the Dr. Who Appreciation Society in the 80's--the Tom Baker years)

I can take or leave the HMH overlay--I actually prefer the original, but haven't seen the HMH enough that I am tired of it.

I like both versions. :goodvibes We were there yesterday and we went to check to see if it opened early-it did, with only 5 min. wait. Also all the Halloween decorations were up inc. the giant mickey pumpkin on Main St. even though when we were there on Tues. one of the Dream Makers said they were told it would be put up Thursday night.

Are Fast Passes being distributed?

I think so!

I really like the overlay. I am an avid fan of NBC, and my favorite part is the big graveyard party, with Jack Skellington and Zero and the snow and stuff. It's awesome!:santa:

There is fast pass for this. We were there opening morning with no lines and went 3 times! There was a bunch of radio stations lined up in front with DJ's live on radio. After lunch time there were horrendous lines until closing.

I absolutly LOVE the HMH!!! And maybe Im one of the only ones who PREFERS it to the regular HM. Im booking my trip this year around the overlay because Ive missed it the past few years and I cant wait to see it again. La la la la la la la la la
