Haunted Mansion Holiday Overlay This Year!

I am clinging to this thread, lol, along with all the others about the special events that are honored in Disneyland! What better way to celebrate any holiday or occasion than by creating a new and wonderful memory with my RL family and my DL one all at once! We have given our holidays over to Disney magic, and without looking back, we love each and every magical touch that is put on our favorite rides and sights there! The NBC is a sweet and kooky way to dress up a fav for the Holidays. We were so sad last year when we realized that our only trip would be to WDW, and that we would miss it! (Of course, WDW has the Osborne Lights, and man oh man, that is special!)

Thanks one and all for helping to build my excitement. I love to hear everyone else's point of view! (Seriously, everyone's! ) I have to say, though, that while I agree with a couple pp's that the best way to diffuse negative energy is to ignore it, I have to go against instinct to simply say: I support free expression. As a writer I would be lost without it. However, in our world, such conflict exists already, that in an environment that is meant to be warm and helpful, there is no place for comments that are simply intended to distort or clash with happy thoughts that have already been expressed. It's not as if we are discussing world hunger or something. It's a little Tim Burton joy!!! For myself, if a thread here is about something I don't care for, I move on. Why stop and make a point of pouring vinegar?

I am so excited too !! More and more people are coming back from our dear DLR with pictures of Halloweeny Oooey Gooey loveliness !!! Its gonna be so awesome to be able to see all the Halloween festivities around HM (as well as inside) because I've never been for October !!

I am so excited too !! More and more people are coming back from our dear DLR with pictures of Halloweeny Oooey Gooey loveliness !!! Its gonna be so awesome to be able to see all the Halloween festivities around HM (as well as inside) because I've never been for October !!

Oh my gosh you're going to have so much fun! It's my favorite time of the year to go. They sell really yummy halloween treats in the candy shops and I always stock up on candy corn for the rest of the year It's so cute to see all the kids in their costumes too. The California sign in front of DCA is amazing!

If anyone wants to see some pics of the DL or DCA at Halloweentime than here's a link to my PTR. I took these last year so they HM is a little different and I didn't want to bother people taking new pics. It's the second post.

I know what you mean. It's hard to choose between DL and WDW because they both have their advantages. Darn you Disney for forcing me to plan two trips!

Just got back yesterday and I must say that I LOVED the haunted mansion overlay!! It was great!! My son and I saw our names on the Christmas lists and thought that was the coolest thing! The gingerbread smell was amazing!! We went on it two times just to feel the full effect. I know that some people on this board don't like the overlay but it was great! We want to go back again just to see it before Halloween!

Having been to WDW 12x+, I am so anxious to know the LAND like I know the WORLD. Sooo...what exactly are these Christmas lists you speak of as we go to the LAND allot!!!!!

I will keep my fingers crossed that you don't miss it! I had not heard that it might go extinct. It is so wonderful, one of those great moments of total joy...my family loves it. We all get chills when we watch our video, and it doesn't even do it partial justice!

Maybe it will go extinct in WDW to be reborn in DLR???

OOO, ok....I thought chargergirl meant that HM/NBC was like E.T. at Universal in Orlando...E.T. says a personal goodbye to you, using YOUR name at the end of the ride....the CM's enter your name at the beginning of the ride...it is so cool.

I have as much right to state what I do not like and why, as you all, have to gush over what you seem to enjoy. I do not have to keep my mouth shut to keep anyone happy, if one says how much they like something, but if I counter it, that makes me wrong? of course it does not, I believe that people that approve of this overlay, really do not appreciate the HM, for if they did, they would not approve of it (the changes) either.
It really is too bad, that certain people cannot understand what I have posted regarding my stance on this subject, for if I can try to understand and accept what people are saying, that like these changes, then it is really very sad indeed that my perspective and opinions cannot be met with the same reception. Furthermore, no one has to like nor agree with what anyone is saying, in order to understand and to accept what the message is.

Listen, I understand that you are trying to seem all high and mighty with your responses, however you lose meaning in your words because you are trying to make them bigger than necessary. Perhaps to make people think you are smart? You have run on sentences all over the place. So your point gets lost to me. I did however get a nice chuckle so thanks.


Oh and dont tell me that I do not appreciate that original HM just because I also like HMH. I love them both. HMH is a nice change from riding the same attraction over and over and over....jmo.

It will be really hard to miss as there is a giant orange and black snake eating the list XD It's the snake that eats the Christmas tree in the movie

I believe that I heard it on the rumor boards. I think it had to do with cutting costs. Then again it's just a rumor; I hope it's not true!

I was there last Friday. I had no idea that there would be a Holiday Overlay so I was more than surprised. i never saw the movie but know that my DD and DSIL love it so I wasted no time calling and giving them my best "neener neeer neener! "It was really a treat!
