We have been to DLR 3 times in the last 2 weeks and have NEVER been able to get on The Haunted Mansion. (The holiday version.)

The first time, it was broken down. The second time, the standby wait time said 120 minutes but people were coming out of line and saying that they had waited more than that and had not even gotten to front of the line. The third time, tonight, we waited for about an hour and didn't even get up to the hearse. My estimate was that the line was probably taking about 2 1/2 hours. The Fastpass was taking about an hour.

Now, we were there all three times after 5pm so, that may have had something to do with it and the last time we were there the employees told us that only one elevator was working.

I thought that I would give you a little heads up that Fastpass is a MUST for Haunted Mansion after 5pm.

<font color=navy>Thanks for the heads up, Roy. I usually tell people to get on Haunted Mansion & It's a Small World early in the day because when it starts getting dark those two have outrageous lines.

I hope they get that other elevator fixed soon - It's tourist time again.

I agree, early is the key. We were able to do HMH quite a few times on the our last trip, but we did so early in the day, By the time late afternoon hit, I would not even tried it.

Were you there during a weekday or weekend? We plan to go on Monday and Tuesday (Dec 15, 16) and are hoping there won't be any sort of crowds or long lines.

We were there last Monday (17th) and there was no line what so ever. We went on it at about 12 o clock. We had fast passes but they said there was no need to use them as there was no line

Thanks Shagster. I guess just the weekends are busy like that. I'm looking forward to a nice, quiet, weekday visit.

I will be there on the 16th as well. Looking SO forward to our trip!!!

Have a magical time!

We were there on the 13th and 14th and had no wait.....but it was before 3:00.

We (my wife and I) are going to be there the 14 - 19 and it is nice to have these tips, like getting on rides earlier in the day. You guys are fabulous. We wonder if we will see you there? hmmm.... :sunny:

We'll be there from the 18-22 Dec, just like last year. We had no trouble with any lines on Thurs, Fri, and even most of Sat...but Sun and Monday, forget it! That was when it was nice to just wander thru CA and wait for FastPass times.

We were there the 18th through the 23rd. There was NO wait on the 18th in the morning....we breezed through both it and Splash Mountain, riding both twice.

We wanted these to be our last rides on the 23rd and did not get over to get Fast Passes until after 11am. The FP return time for Haunted Mansion was for 3:30-4:30 at that time and Splash Mountain was 5:35-6:35. The Fast Pass return to HM had a line to the French Market and took us almost exactly an hour to get through. The Fast Pass return to Splash Mountain was almost non-existant and it took us less than 5 minutes. Its a Small World had an insane line that zig zagged back and forth all over the place. And the Matterhorn was un-manageable with lines on both sides reaching so far back they were outside the ropes. POC's line clogged up New Orleans Square. It was, in short, a mess.

I was so glad we did everything we wanted to do on the 18th and 19th at Disneyland as it was hard to even just walk around on the 22nd and 23rd, let alone the crazy lines to ride anything. Even during the afternoon parade the lines never went down.

So if you want to see either HM or IASM then see them in the morning on a weekday, and you will be in and out inside of 15 minutes. I would not even reccomend doing them with a Fast Pass on a weekend or holiday unless you want to spend an hour on them, possibly more.

We were there on 18th (tuesday). The line for IASW was CRAZY! We got FP then went over and rode POTC (walked right on), Indiana Jones (walked right on) and HM (walked right on) before returning for our IASW FPs. It ended up working out beautifully. We came out of IASW just as the fire works started so we were able to watch the fireworks while waiting to get off IASW :)
